Hi beauties!
I couldn’t wait to try out the Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude Foundation. As I was previously impressed with the Nude Cushion Stick Radiant Makeup, I was sure I would love this foundation too. In this review, I’ll tell you whether it worked out or not.
The design is high-end, but not completely flawless.
The bottle is made of frosted glass, the plastic cap is golden-colored, and like that of the classic version, it isn’t equipped with a pump. You can buy one, of course, but somehow the pump makes the air of luxury disappear.
The bottle contains the standard 30 ml. / 1 oz.
I appreciate the fact that there is SPF 30. The fragrance is nice, a bit sour.
The formula is runny and therefore the bottle is always messy.
The foundation is pleasant to the touch and applies lightly and sheerly, but if you don’t prepare your skin beforehand, the foundation may emphasize flaking skin.
It can be applied both with a makeup sponge or brush.
The coverage of the Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude is light. You can apply multiple layers in order to achieve medium coverage. The foundation isn’t visible on the skin but it evens out the skin tone.
The finish is satin, it reminds me of Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. The glow is visible only within 20-30 minutes after application. Then, the skin tone becomes more silky, which I like even better.
The shade 1N2 Ecru is a light color with a warm undertone. It was perfect in winter, but I’ll need a darker shade when the summer comes.
So, let’s evaluate the product quality?
In this photo I wear nothing but day cream. My skin type is normal, I have uneven skin tone, blackheads and a bit of enlarged pores.
The foundation is applied wet in one layer. If you look closely, you’ll see how the foundation emphasizes the pores and flaking skin on the nose, which means that the skin wasn’t prepared for the makeup.
I really love the effect the foundation provides! Gentle glow, healthy skin without heavy foundation.
I have no complaints about its durability. The foundation stays on as long as I need, I don’t touch up in the T-Zone.
In general, I like this foundation, but it can’t replace my faves, namely EL Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick or Tarte Empowered Hybrid Gel Foundation. It has a few great pros, but there are also a few minuses, and because of them I doubt I’ll buy it again.
+ great design
+ pleasant formula and easy application
+ beautiful finish, light coverage
+ great durability
