I’ve wanted to try something from Huda for a really long time, because it’s beloved by so many makeup artists and makeup junkies. Plus, Huda is very beautiful and I want to be like her. I love her inspiring philosophy.

In the end, I got this long-awaited lipstick from HB and now I want to share my opinion about it.

A bit of information:

Available online and at Sephora, in various colors for $20 (0,17 oz.).

Also, I’d like to highlight that this product is cruelty-free and gluten-free.

Design, swatches.I must warn you, my lipstick is travel-sized, though the only difference is the length of the tube.

The lipstick comes housed in a cardboard package with lips that hold the lipstick. It’s protected with film against those who want to try the lipstick at the store.

The tube itself has no protection, though. You can only judge by the stopper - if it’s clean, no one used it before you.

Let’s get back to the lipstick Smile The tube looks neat and stylish with its frosted glass, and it’s so nice and pleasant to the touch. The black cap is plastic, but feels nice too. The word beauty shimmers in the light.

On the bottom you can find the name of the shade and the batch code to check the freshness of your lipstick. The stopper is goodish and does its job, though not perfectly. It leaves no excess on the applicator, which is good.

The applicator is hairy and handy, easy to apply and draw lip contours with.

Ingredients:

Formulated without parabens.

All shades have the same ingredient list with may contain : Isododecane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cera Alba [Beeswax], Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Polypropylsilsesquioxane, Octyldodecanol, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Mica, Ethanol/Ethyl Alcohol, Ethyl Vanillin, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance, Propylene Carbonate, Water, Phospholipids, Coffea Arabica Seed Extract [Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Seed Extract], Olea Europaea Fruit Oil [Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil], Ascorbyl Palmitate, Linoleic Acid, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Lycopene. May Contain: Ci 77891 [Titanium Dioxide], Ci 77491 [Iron Oxides], Ci 15850 [Red 6], Ci 45410 [Red 27], Ci 77499 [Iron Oxides], Ci 19140 [Yellow 5], Ci 16035 [Red 40], Ci 77492 [Iron Oxides], Ci 42090 [Blue 1].

The shade Girlfriend is warm and sophisticated, it may look different depending on the clothes, makeup and mood, with a prevalent mustard undertone.

Fragrance:I smell something harsh and chemical when opening the tube, but then it disappears and the lipstick starts smelling lovely: of sweet coffee. I want to lick it from my lips to the last drop.

Formula:It’s creamy at first, then it starts drying. A swatch on my hand take a lot of time to dry.

That’s what it looks like after 10 minutes:

You can see that the edges are still wet. On the lips, however, the lipstick dries quickly and becomes matte.

Application:

The formula is easy to apply in a thick layer. You have 30 seconds to correct flaws, then it’s dry. Absolutely dry, and leaves no stains when you touch it. There is one flaw, which I’ll tell you about below.

In the first 30 minutes my lips look as though partly covered with a highlighter, maybe it’s the velvet finish they promised, but I thought it would be different.

Close up photos:

The whole look:I wouldn’t call this shade versatile because of its mustard undertone which is especially visible in the light. I’m not sure if it suits me, though at first I thought it was a bit like baby poop brown.

After a few hours in a darker room:

The longevity is inspiring. The lipstick did dry my lips, but I couldn’t feel it. It’s only a visible effect.

I could have ended my review here, leaving it extremely positive, but there is one but.

The lipstick is way too sticky. Again, it leaves no stains on clothes, cup or food, and yet it somehow stick my lips together like this:

I think such flaw is unforgivable, considering the price. It’s not that crucial and it only does so when I purse my lips (which I do when I’m nervous), but none of my previous lipsticks were so sticky.

By the way, the lipstick in the photo was applied 6 hours before and lived through a snack.

It does not oxidize which I couldn’t be happier about.

I remove the lipstick with a cleansing oil and it comes off easily.

Also, the tube lasts long thanks to the lipstick’s viscous formula.

Pros:

  • - great formula
  • - pleasant coffee fragrance
  • - durability
  • - nice to wear

Cons:

  • - the color Girlfriend is not for everyone
  • - sticks lips together

Conclusion: despite the above given cons, I liked this lipstick and I can recommend that you try it.
