It’s odd, but lately I’ve come across so many nice mascaras and I feel excited and want to try more and more, because perfection knows no bounds.
My review today is about another mascara from the list, namely about Lancome Hypnose Volume Mascara.
It can be hardly called ‘new’ because it’s been around for many years.
Go as bold, or natural, as you desire with Hypnôse Custom Volume Mascara. With every stroke, the patented POWERFULL™ brush intensifies lashes from root to tip while the exclusive SoftSculpt™ formula—enriched with Vitamin B5—wraps lashes one luxurious layer at a time without smearing, smudging, or clumping. Create day to evening looks with this buildable mascara, and achieve 600 percent the volume of your natural lash.
The mascara arrives in a curvy black tube, the only decorations on it are the golden letters and the brand logo (the rose). It was in a silver cardboard box.
The mascara is available in black and brown. My mascara is black.
Price: about $28
The wand isn’t completely straight, it’s rather hourglass-shaped. It’s a bit thinner in the middle, then it gets bigger, and the tip is narrow too. The bristles are short.
The neck of the tube is quite wide, but the stopper is excellent so the wand takes out as much as needed.Ingredients:Formula:
Many mascaras are too watery at first and require some time to thicken and open up.
This one, however, is always ready to be applied. It’s dense and glides through eyelashes, dyeing them from the roots to the very tips. The pigmentation is good, the color is rich.
These are ordinary, thin, volume-less eyelashes. They are pretty long but it isn’t visible due to the white tips. I want my mascara to give them curl and volume.
The wand is nice and handy and you don’t have to get used to it. It’s easy to paint even the most hard to reach areas. Even applied in one coat, the mascara defines my eyelashes without glueing them together. Unfortunately, volume isn’t one of its strong points. It gives goodish volume, but no dramatic volume. However, it can be layered without the spider legs effect.
The mascara also provides a nice lengthening effect and plumps my eyelashes up, opening up my eyes.
Another feature, which is really important to me, is that this mascara leaves no stains on the upper lid. You know the feeling when you try to apply your mascara at the lash line, but the bristles on the wand stain the lid as well. This doesn't happen in this case, I think thanks to the short bristles that don’t reach the skin.
And now the main reason why I love this mascara: it doesn’t flake throughout the day and stays put from dawn to dusk even when it’s extremely hot outside.
The mascara causes no problems and can be removed with any makeup remover. It leaves no raccoon eyes, by the way.
The bottom line: the Hypnose mascara is really nice and if you’re ready to shell out, you won’t be disappointed!
