Hello there!
Recently I really fell for the unicorn Lime Crime brand. I started our acquaintance with both Venus eyeshadow palettes and then I bought a few Velvetines lipsticks. But once I saw the new launch of their Plushies lipsticks I couldn’t help but buy one. So, here it is, the new lipstick by the Lime Crime Plushies which I’m going to write a review of today.
For a long time I couldn’t make up my mind on what color to choose. At first I wanted to choose the darkest shade, then I was almost ready to buy the red color. But in the end I actually opted for the neutral pink Lavender Honey color.
Product promises:
PLUSHIES (from plushy: a soft toy) are the new generation of nude lips. Non-opaque, soft focus formula enhances natural lip color while making your lips look as plush as a teddy bear!
Touch-proof finish ensures no-hassle all-day wear. One coat is all you need for that coveted my-lips-but-better effect, or build to your liking for more intensity. Infused with a nostalgic blackberry candy scent. Plushies are so comfortable, you'll forget you're wearing them!
So, let’s get back to the lipstick's review.
Package:
When I had it delivered the lipstick was packed in a plastic box with all the needed information on it: expiration dates, ingredients and manufacturer.
The weight of the product is 3.5 ml and it’s described as a Soft Focus Lip Veil.
Made in the USA and the shelf life is 12 months after opening.
The brand doesn’t test its products on animals and is absolutely cruelty-free.
Opening the box you’ll see a beautiful glass tube with a matte top lid with a pictured bear on it.
Open the tube and you’ll find a small applicator on a small transparent plastic wand.
It’s much smaller in comparison with the Velvetines applicator and I find this one to be more convenient to work with.

I was always interested in what the Lime Crime comfort matte lipsticks are made of. So, I did a little bit of a research and found out the following.
There are some synthetic as well as natural extracts here. Also, there are a lot of silicone-based components which are here to even out the lips relief. I also found out that there are lots of useful components to hydrate and nourish our lips.
Swatches and application
The texture is liquid and I find it easy to control the application. I can apply the product with a thin layer as well as get a beautiful bright and intense pink shade. The product has a buildable formula. The scent is very sweet, as though of candy. The consistency is extremely soft, so soft that I can describe it as buttery.
I tried my best to show you the maximum of the color in the swatches.
The first swatch - the product is applied in one coat; the second - two; the third - three. Everything is very simple.
It’s such a pleasure to wear this lipstick on my lips. I can even forget that I'm wearing it. The finish is natural (I mean the color). If I’m too lazy to take care of my lips before application, then the lippie looks like that over them:
Of course it will accentuate flaking but it will still look natural. (unlike the Velvetines lipsticks). One coat is enough for me to get a beautiful pink shade. And of course I want to repeat it once again that the product has buildable formula.
Removing and wear time:
Is it possible to kiss your man and not to stain him with a lipstick? Easy-breezy! I tried to rub the swatch on my hand and nothing happened. The swatch was still there, like of the Velvetines lipsticks.
The lippie isn’t afraid of micellar water or hot tea. But as many other liquid matte lipsticks it’ll fade once it touches greasy food like burgers. It’s notable that the product also fades if I eat apples.
Hence a cleansing oil is the best option to choose to remove this lipstick. There’s no stain after I wash it off.
Here on the right I tried to remove the product with a micellar water and on the left I did it with a cleansing oil.
My looks with this lippie:
This lipstick is fab to create easy and cute looks with. Nothing heavy - only cute and hardcore looks.
1 coat of a lipstick
2 coats
As you might have already guessed, there’s almost no difference if I apply the product in one or two coats.
Overall:
This is a lipstick for those who want to look natural and not to bother about the way their lipstick looks during wear. Even if you eat a very fatty burger, the lipstick will fade a little, though your lips will still look nice and beautiful, covered with a soft focus veil by Lime Crime.
