Hello beauties! Smile

If you aren’t sick and tired of warm-toned red makeup looks, then I want to bring you my review of the cult eyeshadow palette which is Lime Crime Venus which was actually one of the first ones released by the brand!

The package of the Lime Crime eyeshadows is usually made of cardboard, the quality of the material is superb, so there’s absolutely nothing to be picky about. The same as the second Lime Crime Venus II eyeshadow palette, this one is also adorned with the Venera by Botticelli but in a more modern way - she’s got makeup, colored hair and a manicure. She looks bold, trendy and knock-out.

Inside the palette you’ll find a small yet convenient mirror. The top lid opens 360 degrees and closes with a magnet closure.

The Lime Crime brand doesn’t test on animals and in general their products are vegan-friendly.

Size - 16g.

Made in the USA

Ingredients:

Ethylhexyl Palmitate,Zinc Stearate,Caprylyl Glycol,Phenoxyethanol,Isopentyldiol,Silica. May Contain [+/-]: Yellow 5 Lake CI 19140,Mica CI 77019,Titanium Dioxide CI 77891,Iron Oxides CI 77491 CI 77492 CI 77499,Bismuth Oxychloride.

The palette comprises of 8 different eyeshadows of two textures - matte (6 shades) and satin (2 shades). Only one of the satin shades, I can freely call a duochrome, isn’t much pigmented, alas.

The mattes are super packed with pigment. They have STUNNING pigmentation, I should say! The color payoff from the brush is so bright that I don’t even have to put much effort into it.

The products blend out nicely, but be careful with them when touching with a brush, because if you use a rough brush, they can be too dusty. Texture-wise the products are a little bit drier than my favorites by Anastasia Beverly Hills. And of course the ABH eyeshadows are much softer. At the same time I can say that the dry texture of the Lime Crime eyeshadows doesn’t affect their quality at all.

The satin shades are very soft to the touch and their pigmentation is just fab. They apply brightly even with a dry brush and there’s no need for me to bother with base colors or wet brushes.

The staying power of these eyeshadows completely depends on the eyeshadow primer I use, at least in my case. I don't wear any eyeshadows without a primer, so there’s also nothing to scold about. The products stay on my eyelids till the moment I remove them and in general they don’t fade or crease while wear. So now, let’s have a closer look at the colors:

The first quad:

Venus - matte vinous a tad satin shade

Shell - pinky-peach satin

Aura - satin creme brulee shade

Creation - warm-toned matte brown-brick shade.

The second quad:

Icon - matte dark brown

Rebirth - matte coral red hue

Divine - the most beautiful shade from the palette - matte grayish taupe which is perfect for the crease

Muse - matte dark maroon color.

The swatch of all the colors. All the swatches are done with my finger over non-primered skin.

I think it’s high time to pass over to the makeup looks created with this palette. But before that I want to make a quick comparison of this Lime Crime Venus with some other, no means less popular, red-toned eyeshadow palettes that I’ve got - Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance and ColourPop Yes, Please!.

If you want to have a red-toned eyeshadow palette, then I can say that you should buy only one of these. It’s undoubtedly true that you won’t need all of them. But if you’re a crazy makeup geek like me, then yes, all these palettes are different! At first sign it might look as though there are too many colors which look almost the same but the swatches prove the opposite.

A small comparison of the red-maroon, orange-brick and brown shades from the palettes:

So now, after looking at the swatches, can you see that all of them are different?

So now we have come up to my favorite part - makeups.

Over my mobile lid I use the Shell, Venus and Icon shades, I did the blending with the Divine shade and on my lower lids I applied the Icon and Muse blend and after that the Aura to the inner corners.

All over the mobile lid you can see the Icon shade, the blending is done with the Creation and Divine shades and there’s Shell in the corners of the eyes.

The Muse shade is over the mobile lid, the crease and blending are done with the Rebirth and Venus shades, and the Icon, Muse, Rebirth are on the lower lash line with the Becca "Vanilla Quartz" highlighter in the corners of the eyes and brow bone.

Lime Crime Venus is one more favorite red-toned eyeshadow palette for me. It really inspires me and I always desire to use it in my makeup creation. The quality is fantastic, the shades are beautiful and in general the palette is very easy to work with. If I were really picky, I’d say that the palette lacks a matte fair shade here, but it isn’t such a big disadvantage for me.

The Lime Crime eyeshadow is something special for me. Once you tried it, you’ll fall for it forever!
