Pros: beautiful design, handy applicator, sweet chocolate smell
Cons: i can feel it all the time, it dries out my lips without a balm, price tag, sticky, transferring

One day I just wanted to treat myself with something interesting, when I remembered about the new product from L'Oreal, chocolate lipsticks. And I headed right to their stand.

My eyesight was caught with the shade #842, which is such an ash pink, nude and chocolate-fragranced. Well, I took this and went to the counter.

Price:$10

Packaging: Well, it’s something. Beautiful matte heavy tube with golden lettering on it. I couldn’t pass by, it feels as though the product is screaming to take it home. Smile The applicator is narrow and angled. It takes out the right amount of the formula, which is nice to contour my lips.

The smell is adorable. It was also pushing me for the purchase. So sweet, chocolate and pretty natural. I struggle not to devour it.

Shade - #824. It’s an ash rose color, which is cool-toned when the lights are natural. It’s well packed with pigments and the color is so beautiful and flattering to my face. Just a must-have.

And here, we’re done with the good, unfortunately.

From that moment on I’ll swear at it:

  • The formula applies with a thick layer! I tried to apply it with semi-sheer coverage when using my fingertips for blending but after that, it applied in patches. Well, okay, I used to think that my lips were terrible and applied a lip balm beforehand. But still, the product looked streaky then!

  • It tugs my lips so badly and dries them out as well. Well, yeah, I know that many liquid matte lipsticks do so. But this one is so detectable on my lips. It accentuates the minor lip texture and I can always feel it present on my lips.

  • The finish isn’t velvet matte but it looks too dry and kind of rubber. It’s so visible on my inner lip, I mean that edge with my natural lip pigment. It’s just like a plain dough, a piece of it.

  • And the most unpleasant thing is that the product is STICKY. I MEAN IT! It feels as though my lips are constantly covered with some glue. When I eat, drink or talk, my lips stick together all the time. It’s so annoying! Sad:(Sad

  • They promised us 16-hour staying power and I do believe it because I can remove it either together with my lips or when I use a bi-phase makeup remover. I don’t need all that, I’d better remove it completely, rather than touch-up after a meal because the coverage disappears from my inner lips all the time. It’s normal for this product.

The lippie in action:

Sorry for uneven contours but my hands were literally shaking because I was freaking out with it.

All in all, I’m so disappointed with my purchase. I don’t know what to do, I don’t want to use it. I was expecting something better from this hyped new product.

Well, I can apt for just looking at it, or for sniffing or for testing out makeup removers.

I don’t get it why the brand can’t come up with a good formula, which won’t look so cheap on the lips.

Well, okay, the negative experience is also experience.

I NEVER RECOMMEND IT!

Have a successful shopping day!
