Today I’m bringing you a review about the popular L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes So Couture So Black Mascara. It has a beautiful purple package:
But the mascara disappointed me, even though there is a good deal of positive reviews online.
L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes So Couture Mascara dresses your lashes in a liquid black silk for lash by lash definition.
- Refined volume
- No clumps
- No stiff lashes
The Couture brush has been tailored by experts to coat every lash without clumps. Its extra soft & small bristles gently thicken the look of each lash while its rigid wand enable you to spread the formula evenly from root to tip. The liquid Black Silk formula gently envelops each lash with volume and intensity, leaving lashes soft...say goodbye to stiff lashes!
The mascara has a silicone brush with medium-length bristles:

I wanted it to separate my lashes, give them some volume and be ultra-black. But what results did I actually get?
It has a tad sweet smell that I can clearly feel for a while even after it dries out, which is not really a good thing for me. Initially the product is pretty liquid, but then it gets thicker.
And I haven’t noticed this ‘exceptional liquid black silk’ effect. My lashes feel the same way they feel with any other mascara I use.
The brush colors my lashes pretty well, but it doesn’t give them any volume.
As for separation, the performance is not great here. As a result, my lashes sometimes stick together.
To get the effect you see in the picture, I had to additionally separate them.
So the brush wand is a no for me. It’s not practical at all.
The mascara applies to my lashes evenly without any clumps. In terms of the wear time, it’s not perfect, because it crumbles.
I wear contact lens, so it’s a crucial thing for me. It removes without fuss with any makeup remover.
Before trying this product, I’ve been using the L'OREAL Volume Million Lashes Excess mascara for a while and I was totally pleased with the results. So I thought that this one would be similar or even better than the Excess option. However, I was wrong.
All in all, the Volume Millions Lashes So Couture mascara isn’t worth it. It’s a hassle to apply.
