Two years ago I treated myself with a L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes So Couture mascara. That moment I couldn't even imagine that it would be the beginning of long love ever since. Later they released the So black version, which I also had a chance to try out.
Product details:
L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes So Couture mascara dresses your lashes in a liquid black silk for lash by lash definition.
Refined volume
No clumps
No stiff lashes
The Couture brush has been tailored by experts to coat every lash without clumps. Its extra soft & small bristles gently thicken the look of each lash while its rigid wand enables you to spread the formula evenly from root to tip.
The liquid Black Silk formula gently envelops each lash with volume and intensity, leaving lashes soft...say goodbye to stiff lashes!
Design: It’s very stylish and typical for L’oreal mascaras. In this case we have a combination of purple and gold colors. It looks decent, but unfortunately all this beauty and luster disappears after a few weeks of use.
Price: $14
Brush:
It’s silicone and conic-shaped with soft bristles. It’s comfortable to use as it lifts my lashes coating them well from the very roots. The only thing I’m upset about is that on the tip of the brush, too much of the product settles. Sometimes when I’m in a hurry I may stain my upper and lower lids with it.
Aroma: Yes, I really mean the aroma. It’s incredibly scented and the aroma stays on for a very long time.
Color: It’s black but not “So Black” as they claim.
Texture: It’s creamy, not oily or runny - ideal for mascara. The texture is build-able, by the way.
Application: This mascara coats my lashes evenly. In one coat they look natural.
* The formula allows you to get the ”no stiff lashes” effect which is so great. My lashes look soft, yet coated.
1 coat
* The second layer makes my lashes pop, clump-free, but stuck together.
2 coats
Staying power:
This mascara is very comfortable while wearing. It doesn’t flake, smudge or run. The lashes look “just coated” till the very evening.
Removing:
The process of removing is very simple without turning me into a panda. One cotton pad soaked with micellar water is enough to remove my eye make-up.
Impressions:
When I apply this mascara, I can see that my short lashes become curled, long and voluminous.
no mascara, 1 coat, 2 coats
Of course I presume that the “So Couture” eyelashes look a little bit different, yet I value the L'Oreal SO COUTURE mascara to be the best. I’ve been using it since 2015 and I’m absolutely happy with it.
Advantages:
+ soft and convenient brush
+ lifts my eyelashes
+ creates a beautiful look
+ gives length and volume
+ keeps my lashes curled during the entire day
+ doesn’t flake or stain lids
+ easy to remove
+ perfect for daily make-up
+ build-able
Disadvantages:
- sticks my eyelashes together
- may stain my eyelids while application
I’m rather delighted with L'Oreal mascara. I bought it several times in two variantions: Volume Million Lashes SO COUTURE and So black. I can say that they are absolutely identical in their technical characteristics and performance on my eyelashes. The only difference is in the design (the black stripe on the tube) and a sounding So Black caption.
Overall: The L’Oreal So Couture mascara is definitely worth your attention. It versatile, I mean it’ll suit daily as well as evening make-up thanks to the build-able formula. Yet I wouldn't say that it’s ideal and for the disadvantages it has, I assess this mascara with 4 stars and highly recommend trying it out!
