Pros: doesn't flake, doesn’t smudge, easy to apply, easy to give a “second life”, gives volume, no clumps, silicone brush, the brush doesn’t scratch the eyelids
Cons: not enough of length, not intense black color, sticky

Hi!

I’m finally ready to make a review of this mascara. Even though I assessed it with 4 stars, I still think that it’s a good mascara. Not every mascara can show such a cool result on my short eyelashes! What’s more, it’s my must have and go-to product.

Price: $14

Made in Italy

Color: Extra Black

Size: 9.5ml

Details:

The Couture brush has been tailored by experts to coat every lash without clumps. Its extra soft & small bristles gently thicken the look of each lash while its rigid wand enables you to spread the formula evenly from root to tip.

The tube is cut and made in glossy black-purple colors! It’s so eye-catching that it’s impossible to pass by.

The stopper works well and allows to take out the right amount of the product. I bought mine three months ago and look it at, nothing’s stained with mascara, everything is clean and beautiful. I had some mascaras with terrible working stoppers and I always had my mascara tubes stained with product.

And here’s the brush. It’s silicone and consists of 408 (if I remember it right) soft but flexible bristles. The size is good, that’s why it’s convenient to use. The brush branches down to the tip which allows you to coat lower short lashes well.

* Color: black, but not an extra black. The usual glossy black color, I think.

* Fragrance: The product smells nicely. It’s not in-your-nose smell.

* Formula: something close to creamy. At first it was runny, but then thickened after a few uses and became ideal.

*** Application ***

It took some time for me to get used to that brush, as at first I just couldn't find a way to coat my lashes with it. Later I got used to it and now I like it. The mascara coats my lashes evenly, even after the first coating. For me there’s no need to apply 2 or 3. Of course if there’s an occasion you can layer it, as the formula is build-able. But I noticed that my lashes still stick together. The product leaves my eyelashes soft and movable, that’s why it’s possible to separate them. Since I’m on maternity leave, I have 2 minutes before my child notices a glossy purple tube in my hands and starts asking to play with it. So two minutes for make-up with 1 layer coated lashes is all I have time for. Smile

If your lashes are long and thick, the So Couture mascara will look wonderful on them, I think. Mine are short and even one coat doesn’t look beautiful. But at least, it creates the effect that I really do have eyelashes on my eyes, which is great! Smile

My before lashes are straight, short and fair.

Result:

My eyes became more pronounced and that’s the reason why we actually wear make-up. Smile

There’s volume, but not fanning at all. My lashes became longer but not significantly. If I draw wings, then my eyelashes won’t be visible. You can see that there are some stuck together lashes.

Why do I assess this product with 4 stars, even though the result might have been better? The answer is in the following collage.

Not each mascara product can make such a difference to my lashes! What’s more, it’s comfortable while wearing. During the day it doesn’t fall out or smudge. It stays put the whole day, even after a workout in the gym.

There are a few disadvantages:

- When it’s raining or snowing, So Couture can stain my lids. But this mascara doesn't promise to be waterproof though.

- it’s difficult to remove with water, as I end up looking like a panda. It’ll be better to remove it with micellar water or eye-make-up remover, and only then use a facial cleanser.

- So Couture mascara dried very quickly, within 3 months after purchasing. (There are some mascaras that I can use for 5 months!) Since there’s paraffin in the ingredients, heating will bring it to life again. The easiest way is to put the tube into a glass with hot water and leave it there for some time. The put-it-on-a-radiator option doesn’t work, I tested Smile. So now you know the trick to make So Couture mascara work for you way longer.

Besides I don't recommend to dilute it with creams, water or oils, as then you’ll rotten the formula and the product will flake. And don’t forget about the bacteria you can potentially put inside. Irritation and conjunctivitis can be the consequences of this method.

L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes So couture So black works well for 4 stars. It’s worth buying and I will recommend it.
