I used to be rather indifferent to the MAYBELLINE Color Tattoo 24 h eyeshadows, unless I saw that they added matte textures in the line. So meet the Color Tattoo 24hr Creamy Mattes.
I bought only two colors #91 Crème De Rose and #97 Vintage Plum, as #97 Vintage Plum seemed to be too yellow for my skin and looked like a bad chosen concealer.
The products are housed in a glass jar packagings.
On a black plastic screw-on lid there’s a small sticker that resembles the color of the eyeshadows inside. On the sticker they give us all the information about the product.
The size of one jar is 4ml.
The texture seems to be more creamy than gel-like as the product is quite thick.
The colors are gorgeous:
91 Crème De Rose: pinky beige color that is almost undetectable on the skin which makes it a perfect base eyeshadow color.
The product is absolutely easy to get on the brush, translate on the skin and blend out.
97 Vintage Plum: dusty plum color that looks different in different lighting.
This color is my eternal love even though it isn’t as easy to work as #91. I find it a little bit tricky to apply this color as it may look patchy. I get some success when I apply this color with a natural bristled brush although they advise using synthetic brushes for creamy textures.
The lasting powder is beyond all praise. I haven’t tried to wear this product for 24 hours but I usually wear it from morning till the very late evening and my eye makeup looks good without touch-ups. (of course if I hadn’t overdone and applied too much).
The products cover my skin tone well and never define the relief of it. I think that is all thanks to the lack of shimmer.
In general I’m happy with my purchase. The only thing I’m a little bit upset about is the color range. It’s too narrow, just a few colors. Well, Maybelline, we are all waiting for the color range to expand, please do it for us
