I’m such a big sucker for lines, that I can’t do without them in every makeup. They help control the eyelid form and complete my makeup making my eyes look deep and expressive.
I tend to look for gel eyeliners for quite a long period of time. They are my favorites, as I can make the desired lines, create the right thickness of them and draw the tip of the line the way I want it. In general, I love the flexible texture of the gel eyeliners.
Since I’m a huge fan of such products, I couldn’t help but purchase the glorious Maybelline Gel Eyeliner Lasting Drama. Now I’d like to share my thoughts on the product.Maybelline Gel Eyeliner Lasting Drama
is one of the most trending gel eyeliners and has an enormous fan base all over the world.
The eyeliner is an affordable high-street product that can easily beat most of the high-ends.
The product comes in a paper packaging that is two or three times bigger than the eyeliner itself.
The box has a good deal of pictures and writing. You can find the product description, ingredients, suggested use and the information about the manufacturer there.
By the way, the eyeliner is made in China, but I do not have anything against it.
The design is immaculate! The eyeliner comes in a small jar made of thick matte glass and with a simple screw cap. It seems that there is nothing special about it, but the jar looks stylish and fascinating. It reminds me of an ice puck.
The shade is indicated on the bottom of the pot.
The cap closes tightly and securely.
The packaging includes a specific brush for the eyeliner.
The brush has changed recently. Now it has bristles on the one end and a useless sponge on the other.
The brush is flat and has really soft and flexible bristles that do not prick. It picks up the color and applies it to the eyelid well. Many girls don’t really appreciate the brush, but it is perfect for me. The only drawback is that it has to be cleansed after every use due to the drying texture, but it is not that big of a deal.
The consistency is thick, soft, flexible and not at all oily. It comes out easily and spreads out on the skin well without leaving any clumps. It neither dries out my skin nor makes it taut. The product applies to the bare eyelids, base and eyeshadows of various textures including glitter perfectly. I haven’t had any problems with application since I bought it. The lines are sharp and straight. Moreover, the tip of the line is super easy to draw.
The eyeliner has a totally matte and a little velvety finish.
The product is available in 4 shades:
blackest black, brown, charcoal and eggplant.
I’ve chosen the black shade to try out and I was absolutely right! The deep and intense black shade is exactly what I need. The eyeliner creates bright lines on the first go.
I also use the gel eyeliner as a kajal eyeliner, an eyeshadow base (the sponge provided could be helpful there) and even as an eyebrow gel.
The eyeliner is one of the most essential products in my beauty arsenal for the time being.
I’d love to show you different makeups using the Maybelline eyeliner now:
I prefer nude eyeshadows and simple lines for every day.
Vibrant evening makeup
The lines are more intense and defined. Plus, I’ve used the product as kajal eyeliner here.
Needless to say that I do not wear this makeup in real life, I’ve created it specifically for a beauty contest. I’ve used the Maybelline eyeliner as an eyebrow gel here, too.
The wear time is totally on point! The tip doesn’t smear and stays locked all day. Here is the makeup that is still there after 8 hours:
The eyeshadows have obviously faded, but the lines look quite decent except for the inner corner of the eye, because I touch it often.
The eyeliner is not so easy to remove, but using micellar water can help.
The product goes quite a long way. It is noteworthy that the eyeliner hasn’t changed its consistency during 3 months, so I guess I’ll be using it for quite some time.
Is there any sense to say that I’m totally pleased with the results? It is the best eyeliner I’ve ever used in my entire life! I definitely recommend this versatile little babe!
Thanks for having me guys!
