MAYBELLINE New York made a lot of girls fall in love with its quality and affordable price. Whether it's a mascara, foundation, or blush, I love absolutely every product by this brand. And so, I knew about their MAYBELLINE New York "The Nudes". It can take me quite a while to tell you everything about this palette, as there are so many make-up looks can be created with it.
So, in this review I want to tell about the most important and general information about the palette:
- close look at each color
- my make-up looks
- general conclusion
The palette is packed in a plastic case with MAYBELLINE New York "The Nudes" caption. Unfortunately, the case is very easy to scratch and it loses its shine very quickly. That’s why my palette is always in a separate pocket in my make-up bag. There’s also a small applicator for the eyeshadows. But I don’t use it. Usually I use the brush that I already own.
The quality of the products is very good, considering its price. This is the so-called, cheap swap for high end palettes. The colors are harmoniously chosen. It’s very easy to combine and blend them. Even a beginner will do well with this palette.
Close look at each color
Shade # 1 - I think it’s the most useless color out of the whole palette. This is the shade with big shimmer, and some parts of white and honey color casting. They are very difficult to apply, difficult to spread and fall out. D with a minus
Shade # 2 - Satin texture - one of the best. It applies very evenly. It's very soft, silky and it isn't much seen on the eyes, the so-called light powder effect.
Shade # 3- A matte one. I use it all the time in every makeup look. It goes great as primer. This color can be applied on the entire eyelid area, or to highlight some parts or the eyebrow bone. It has the color of a natural powder shade. I will run out of this color first, and will buy again, but in separate refill pan.
Shade #4 - I use this shade quite rarely. It’s a very bright bronze shimmer color. It’s more suitable for evening makeup. Very pigmented and easy to apply on the skin.Shade #5
- This shade is one of my favorites. It's a grey-beige eyeshadow and it's easy to apply on the entire eyelid alone, as well as with a fair shimmer shade, # 11 for example. I think they’ll look very gentle and shiny.
Shade # 6. Good color of a grey-brown shade. It’s matte, easy to blend and work with. It looks great on the eyelid. I think this hue makes my eyes more defined and it suits well for day or evening make-up.
Shade # 7 - This one is of satin texture and good quality. Easy to blend and is ideal as the lid color.
Shade #8 - Great shadow color. I also use it quite frequently. If you want to make a matte make-up, any shade will compliment it just well. It’s easy to apply and it doesn’t fall out.
Shade #9 I don’t use this shade at all as I don’t like the yellow shades on the eyes. I used it once to experiment, and its quality wasn’t the best. I think that’s because of the shimmer which isn’t actually well-grained and there are some big bits in it.
Shade #10 - Hot chocolate color. The texture is satin and silky. It’s very pleasant to the touch. Easy to use and matches with # 2,6,7,8.
Shade # 11. It’s just fab. The most shining color with a pearl casting. It’s very easy to work with and can be used alone or with # 2,3,5,6,7,8,10 and 12. It can create a chic makeup look if used with the last shade #12. I think, these colors are just created to each other and for evening make-up.
Shade # 12. It’s not black. I’d say it’s dark grey. Matte texture which is perfect for beautiful evening makeup. It is ideal and easy to work with. It can fall out a bit sometimes but, it’s not a big problem.
My makeup variations:
Makeup #1. It’ll be great for those who are always in a hurry and have no time to apply make-up. It’s a very gentle, day and matte makeup. To create it, I used shade #3 on the entire lid. Then, a little bit of #6 above the crease. You can also apply some of shimmer shades #1 or #11, as well.
Makeup #2. It’s also a day make-up, but shiny. Here, I used matte hues #5 on the entire area of the lid, then # 2 blended in and then applied #11 on the highest point of the eyelid. Wet technique, in my opinion, allows you to apply this color thicker and makes the hues look more beautiful and sophisticated. Most frequently I use these shadows, because with lighter shades, the liner looks even more defined.
Makeup #3. It’ll be ideal for a photo shoot or on a holiday. I used #11 and 12, I think it’s a great match. #11 combines with #12 and they look stunning.
You can buy this palette at almost any drugstore.
So, I almost finished my review and I want to say that:
- I can give this palette 8 stars out of 10. Taking away one star for a not very good # 1 color and 1 star out for the scratching power of the palette.
- This palette will suit to absolutely every girl, the great color-grade allows to choose matching shades and create wonderful looks.
- The product is very affordable, and the quality is absolutely great.
Will I ever buy it again? Yes! Yes! Yes! And I will definitely recommend it to all my friends (though, they’ve already bought it)
Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found some interesting information. Tell me please, in the comments what shades do you use most of all and which are your favorite ones!
