Hello! So the hero of my review is the red eyeliner by NYX. I’ll show you my different make-up looks and tell you why I have taken one star off.
Packaging:
The product has a cardboard outer packaging, sealed from both sides. On the box you can find some make-up options of how to use this product.
Mine is made in China, but it’s a well known fact that NYX have their factories worldwide. They all have the same standardised quality, so don’t be afraid if yours is also from China.
The tube itself is really small, and it’s color coded to the color of the liner.
The applicator is thin with long and convenient to hold handle. The stopper inside is great and doesn’t give out too much of the product.
Quality:
Texture-wise, this liner resembles some gouache, I mean it’s highly pigmented, opaque with no shimmer or glitter to it.
It dries really quickly. To draw a perfect line you’ll have to proceed some steps, taking out some product, once you took the applicator from your eyelid. My very first line with this eyeliner wasn’t at all good or even, it was horrible.
Staying power:
The product is rather long-lasting. It can easily live through a few hours of wear, but it has a significant drawback. It cracks. It cracks a few moments straight after the application. In the photo below you can have a closer look at how it happens. I won’t take away 2 stars for it, because at arm's length these cracks are almost invisible.
It’s always such a pleasant thing to create something interesting with bright colored cosmetics. So, I turned my fantasy on and gave out a few options for you to see. I was inspired to do this make-up like in the picture on the box.
At first I draw the red lines, and then with the help of some other liner, put on some other accents.
Two more options in the same color range. I love these colors so much!
This make-up look will do well for any photoshoot or themed night. I did my eyes different on purpose, as I think that this way they look especially unusual.
As for daily or evening make-up, I advise to use it with black eyeliner. Here I did a black liner from the middle of my eye and then blended it out at the outer corner. The red liner I decided to do thicker in the outer corners and thinner in the inner.
In this make-up look I decided not to line my entire eye with the black liner, but only define the flick of the red liner.
This is how it looks with my eyes closed.
Total look. I presume that it’ll be way better to opt for the nude lipstick for a daily look and red lips if you’re going to a party.
In conclusion, I want to say that I was longing to have red eyeliner for a really long time, and when I actually got it, I was very happy.
Pros:
♥ long-lasting
♥ wide color range
♥ highly pigmented
♥ my color is really perky
♥ convenient to use applicator
But, unfortunately there’s a drawback:
And even though it’s almost invisible, I can’t miss out this fact.
I like to create different make-ups with it, so I’ll give Nyx Vivid brights Escape 4 stars in total.
Thank you for your attention!
