My lipstick collection is growing and growing….
Shade: KISS THE DUST.
When I was at the store, I swatched this product on my hand and was rather confused. The shade looked warm and oddly peach-like. Where’s the gorgeous nude shade that I saw on the swatches online, I kept asking myself. But still, my curiosity didn’t let me put the product back to the shelf and I eventually bought it.
The packaging is tiny for a lip product, I think. I guess that it won't go long for me. The stick is way thinner than a usual lipstick. I think it will easily break down if I press it too much. But I’m an optimist and always look at the positive side when I see a negative one. So, the stick is thin but that means that I’ll be able to apply the product even without a lip pencil contour over my thin and small lips.
Well, the product is fragrance-free. At least I don’t feel it. Sometimes it even seems a little disappointing. Especially when I open the Soft Matte Lip Cream. The fragrance there is just awesome.
During the first application I was stunned by the softness of the texture. Really, the lippie glides on my lips so well that I don’t even know how to describe those feelings I have each time applying the product. I also like dabbing this lippie with my fingertip for a more modest and sheer coverage. If I apply the product straight from the stick, I get beautiful and thick coverage at once. The staying power is several hours. It fades gradually from the center of the mouth and then on the contours. The product is transfer-proof, though I can speak only for this color as I don’t know anything about the brighter ones.
As with many other matte lipsticks this one is drying. Always remember to moisturize your lips before and after the matte lippie application.
When I came home after I bought this product, I applied the lippie on and fell for the color completely. Even though it looked odd and strange on the swatch, on the lips it looks like a cool-toned beige color that will flatter any makeup look. It looks neutral and is especially beautiful together with brown colors.
This lippie is the ninth lip product by NYX in my stash, and it’s also one of my faves.
Thanks for reading my review!
