NYX Liquid Suede Metallic Matte Lipstick - review

Hey guys!

Today I want to bring you my review of the NYX "LIQUID SUEDE METALLIC MATTE" Lipstick,

which has become a hit on the American market and was completely sold out on the official NYX website within 2 days!

You know, I’ve tried the original Liquid Suede Lipstick and I can tell you that I wasn’t impressed by it.

But once NYX announced in their emails that they were launching the new collection called LIQUID SUEDE METALLIC MATTE, my heart started to beat faster.

I didn’t want to get one more useless lipstick to my collection which I wouldn't even dare to wear.

So, that was June of 2017 when I got an email where they said that they start selling their new collection on the official site.

But I didn’t need any more lipsticks, did I? That’s why I opened the website and started to look through the swatches. It took me about 20 minutes when I finally came to the conclusion that I didn’t need any of their lipsticks at all and quickly pressed the Add to Bag button. Only one lipstick, guys. Just to try out.

You might wonder where my logic was but I’ll tell you that there wasn’t any.

So, sometime later I got my lipstick delivered.

The package looks almost the same as the original version with the only exception in the metallic plastic. All the 3 collections are: Liquid Suede, Cosmic Metals and Liquid Suede Metallic Matte. They all look like twin sisters.

The applicator-sponge has small short furry bristles.

It looks very alike with the main collection applicators.

It’s okay to outline my lips with it as well as to apply the product all over the lips. I can easily get by without a lip liner or a lip brush if I use this applicator.

The texture is creamy and I deem it's a little bit thicker than of the Liquid Suede Lipsticks.

There’s a slight unnatural smell to the product, though I don’t feel it on my lips.

Color. I have my lippie in the color Biker Babe and I can describe it as a saturated vinous burgundy shade. The base color seems to be more crimson, though thanks to the small shimmer bits and light changes, the main color can look either warm- or cool-toned.

It doesn’t make my teeth appear whiter though it doesn’t make them look yellow either.

Isododecane, Octyldodecanol, Hydrogenated Polycyclopentadiene, Ethylene/Propylene Copolymer, Cera Microcristallina / Microcrystalline Wax / Cire Microcristalline, Tin Oxide, Water/Aqua/Eau, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Silica, Alumina, Aluminum Hydroxide, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, BHT, Phenoxyethanol, Barium Sulfate (CI 77120). I haven’t compared this list of ingredients with the ingredients list of the lipsticks from the main collection but it feels as though the formula was changed.

Liquid Suede Lipstick needs about an hour to dry down or maybe even more, but this Metallic Matte Lipstick dries out within 2 or 3 minutes. That time is enough to work out the contour of the lips to fill them in beautifully.

Liquid Suede Metallic Matt doesn’t stain anything, except some fatty or greasy things. But if you rub your lips, the pigment will be smudged.

Liquid Suede lipsticks stains everything and everywhere (at least those colors that I have)

The formula of the Liquid Suede Metallic Matt is well-pigmented. I mean you need one swipe of the brush and a very thin layer to cover your natural lip color. I don’t recommend you to build up the lipstick or try to apply it with a thicker layer as it may cause crumbling of it. The thin layer holds up like your second skin. The lipstick can live through kisses. :)I don’t know why they put this lipstick among the Suede collection. If you ask me, the finish looks more like of the Lingerie collection.

The finish is very beautiful and truly metallic. The lipstick sparkles in the sunlight thanks to those shimmer bits. It doesn’t look boring or hackneyed. I’m head over heels with it!

Lasting power.

The very first day when I received and applied this lipstick on my lips, it held up for 5 hours and within that time it looked as though just applied. Then I ate some crabs and it lived through that trial too.

As I've already mentioned above, the lipstick can’t stand layering and touch-ups, so I usually wash it off with a wet wipe and then apply once again.

Later on that day I drank tea without fatty food and the lipstick was still there. It started to fade a little only from the inside of my mouth, though. At the same time it left a crimson pigment behind, that’s why the difference between the lipstick and bare inside of the lips was almost undetectable.

It doesn’t crack, fall out or anything when I smile, unlike the ColourPop lipsticks, for instance.

Yes, this lippie shows my lip relief but at the same time it wears comfortable and doesn’t turn my lips into a dry desert.

During the day, I can’t feel that my lips are dry. Even when I wash it off in the evening there are no discomforting feelings afterwards. But you know me, I still always apply a lip balm.

Removing

You can wash off the lipstick with a wet wipe, but you’ll have to rub your lips then, as it leaves a stain behind. That’s why I prefer some “greasier” makeup removers. Currently the NYX Stripped Off Cleansing Balm is my favorite makeup remover.

But even the “greasier” makeup cleansers weren’t able to wash off that pink stain from my lips. It was completely washed off only the next day when I exfoliated my lips. Yet still this isn’t such a problem for me.

I’m very pleased with this lipstick. I’m upset with only one thing, which is the gripe that I ordered only one color to try. When I visited the official store again, I found out that the lipsticks from this collection were sold out completely!

But I’m sure to buy some more shades one day. Thoroughly recommended
