Hello pretty ladies!
The NYX cosmetics is winning me over more and more. Each time I have to struggle a desire to buy all the products by the brand. And if we are to speak about the single eyeshadows today, I deem there are so many colors in the collection that everybody will find of his or her liking very easily. For me I opted for a beautiful fall-like shade which is called Addiction.
I ordered it from the official Nyxcosmetic.com website. Recently I visited it again and discovered that there is such a little amount of the shades available, as many of them were sold out! My color was also out of stock but I do believe that it’s still available from the NYX corners.
The jar with the eyeshadow is super cute. It’s beautiful yet very simple. Especially the bow on the side of the package, it looks super eye-catching.
So, this is the color that meets us in the packaging. It’s an intense shade that doesn’t look simple. It has a warm red undertone but there’s also a hint of vinous undertone as well. The micro shimmer shines purple and orange in the package. On the swatch the color looks different than on my eyes. In general this is a fall color for me. The fall is the season when I want my makeup to look warm-toned with some red or vinous and brown notes to it. By the way, this color will be super flattering for green eyes, as it makes the green pigment really pop. The texture is sophisticated, I’d put it like that, as when I touch it with my finger, I can feel that the texture is dry and powder. The brush doesn’t fall into the texture as well, as it may usually happen with many other soft-textured eyeshadows. But I can say that this isn’t a chalky texture either. I have no difficulties with the application, as the color applies well, there’s no falling out or color spots.
In this photo the color may look too pink but I can confirm that it completely depends on the light. In a word, you can see my makeup as it is, my eyes don’t look sore or cried out.
Even if you apply a lot of the pigment, your eyes won’t still look cried out or anything. If you’re too unsure, you can line your eyes with a black eyeliner.
Why is the color called Addiction? Maybe they associate the red pigment on the eyes with some addiction? It’s rather weird but it’s only my guess.
On my eyes I can see less shimmer than in the packaging. I can see only some beautiful glow there.
I guess it’ll be rather tricky to create bold and bright makeup looks with this color as it isn’t so vibrant, but on the contrary, I take it as a muted shade.
The staying power is excellent. I always wear my eyeshadows over an eyeshadow primer as I have oily lids and on my eyes there isn’t an eyeshadow to hold on the entire day.
I think that this single pack eyeshadow compact is nice and worthy. The price is affordable and the quality is great.
