Hello!

Today I’m gonna write about a favorite of millions - Nyx matte lip cream. Last year this lipstick created such a furor on Youtube, that hardly any blogger missed the opportunity to mention this product Smile So I’ve also decided to give it a try. I’ve chosen the Cannes shade.

Volume: 8 ml

Manufacturer: NYX, USA

Outer look:

The lip cream is covered in a transparent film. The color of the plastic tube corresponds to that of the lipstick.

There’s a lid that twists off with an applicator inside.

Ingredients:

Isohexadecane, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Dimethicone, Beeswax/Cera Alba/Cire d’Abeille, Glyceryl Behenate/Eicosadioate, Talc, Cyclopentasiloxane, Propylene Carbonate, Silica, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Flavor/Aroma, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, Hexyl Cinnamal, Hydroxycitronellal. MAY CONTAIN / PEUT CONTENIR (+/-): Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Yellow 6 Lake (CI 15985), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140), Red 6 (CI 15850), Red 7 (CI 15850), Red 28 Lake (CI 45410).

Characteristics and application:

The texture is nice, feels like souffle. The color spreads out evenly on your lips.

I’d say that the Cannes shade is dusty pink which is quite a nice color. I’ve been choosing this shade for quite some time at the shop, as most of the colors were either dark or light. This line lacks some medium colors that I usually wear.

This shade can be worn in everyday life, it’s not too bright and it won’t attract much attention.

It smells nice and sweet.

The coverage is glossy at the beginning, but then it dries out.

After 20-30 mins it dries out completely, goes matte and stops being tacky at all.

In general, I use this lipstick without any lip liner, but sometimes I like applying it too to enhance my lips.

Firstly, I apply my lip liner (Essence 05 soft berry) and blend out the the lip lines:

Then I apply the lipstick:

My lips are fuller and more attractive as a result:

As soon as the lip cream dries out completely, my lips look absolutely matte:

By lamplight:

Staying power is really good, especially when paired with a lip liner. It looks alright even after a meal. it doesn’t stay for a really long time, but if you touch your lips with a napkin, you hardly leave a trace. However, if you rub the napkin over your lips, the lipstick comes off.

As a result, my impressions of this lipstick are positive. At the beginning, I couldn’t get used to the fact that it’s a bit drying and makes my lips feel tight, so that I even stopped using it for a while, Later I started using it again and since then I got used to the texture. Now I understand that matte and long-lasting lipsticks are not that comfortable to use!

You should pay more for staying power and matte finish for that matter. I wouldn’t recommend this lip cream for dry and chapped lips. But it won’t accentuate peeling that much!

I don’t know about other shades, but the Cannes is not that bad. I’ve decided to give 4 stars to this famous lip cream, because I won’t buy any other colors. It’s a good lipstick and it will do for a change, but it’s not one I would use every day. I bought this lipstick last fall and there’s still a lot of it left.
