Hello there!
About a month ago Kylie Cosmetics released her limited edition Holiday makeup collection. Out of the entire line, I opted for a lip kit, which consists of a liquid matte lipstick and a lip liner in the shade Kissmas for me.
I’m head over heels with lipsticks from Kylie Cosmetics. I love that they always come as kits (a lip liner + a lipstick). And I also believe that my lips look their best and the most seductive when I wear Kylie Jenner lipsticks.
Kylie Cosmetics 2018 Holiday Collection Kissmas Matte Liquid Lipstick Lip Kit.
Price: $29
Weight: Matte Liquid Lipstick (0.11 oz./ 3.25 g, Pencil Lip Liner (03 oz/ 1.0g)
Design:
Usually, the Kylie Jenner products have a black and white design but here, this Holiday collection is different and it’s light-blue.
I love the blue color and absolutely adore this packaging.
The box comes with lips over it, which is traditional for the brand with a liquid lipstick draining down (but here we can see blue glitter actually). The Kylie lettering is also glistening and shining. I want to keep this box forever.
The top of the box reveals the name of the shade:
Inside you’ll find a lip liner and a lipstick which are separated with a cardboard liner.
I also want to attach the ingredients list of the products, if you’re interested.
The packaging of the lippie and the lip liner are of a light-blue “limited edition” shade.
The tube with the lipstick is rather weighty and of good quality.
The lippie has an applicator, which is doe-foot. The sponge itself is small and comfy.
Shade:
Previously, Kylie used to release bright and bold red lipsticks as a part of her Holiday collections, but this year the shade looks rather summer-like. The Kissmas shade is a peachy nude color, which is more orange, rather than pink. I don’t know, maybe Kylie was inspired by the new trendy upcoming 2019 coral shade according to Pantone.
The lipstick and the lip liner are of the same color.
Texture
Lip liner:
It’s awesome texture-wise. It feels like this is the best lip liner that Kylie has ever managed to create. It’s so creamy, gliding and pigmented. It never scratches or tugs my lips.
Kylie's lip liners can also be used for lip filling in as though a lipstick.
However, there’s still one huge disadvantage about her lip liners. They all break down inside of the casing and fall out. I always have to place it back in.
Lipstick:
It’s liquid and applies on my lips with a thick and smooth coat. It doesn’t apply with patchy spots or budge. It sets quickly and turns into the absolute matte.
Two years ago, when I bought my first liquid lipsticks from Kylie, it felt as though they were the most comfortable ever. Now, I’ve changed my opinion. There are so many other lipsticks in the market, which are more comfortable to wear. For instance - Smashbox Always on Liquid Lipstick, Huda Beauty, Kylie velvet lipsticks. Even the Lime Crime brand offers a more comfortable formula.
I can’t say that this lippie from Kylie Cosmetics dries out my lips too badly but I can feel its texture. This isn’t comfy.
But if I apply a lip balm beforehand, it allows me to minimize the tightening sensation.
The product shows off my lip crevices but I don’t find it too critical.
Smell:
It smells pleasantly of a vanilla cupcake.
Now I want to show you the lip liner and lipstick in the shade Kissmas on my lips:
And with my full-on makeup:
The lipstick is long-wearing, but it’s standard for matte textures. It’ll live through tea and coffee. However, it vanishes almost completely when I eat something.
Overall:All in all, I’m pleased with my purchase but I can’t say that I’m raving about it. It’s a nice peach-orange nude shade. Even though it isn’t the most comfortable to wear, I still don’t experience any discomforting sensations.
If you want to meet the Kylie Jenner lipsticks, then I recommend you try out her Velvet formula first because it’s very comfortable and doesn't show off my lip texture:
