Today I’m testing the NYX Vivid Brights Creme Colors.
The eyeshadows look incredibly attractive. They are packed in heavy glass jars with colored lids.

You must have already understood that these shadows are not for everyday wear, not for the office, and not for shy girls, and it will be quite difficult for a beginner to apply such bold shades and such unusual formulas.
☆ Let's take a closer look at them☆
The shadows were initially covered with a transparent film, but it was inconvenient to use and store them, and therefore I have removed all the protective membranes. I hope it won’t make them dry out faster, but if it will, I know how to fix them with the MULTITASKER MIXING MEDIUM.
The eyeshadows have a smooth surface, they are absolutely matte without any glitters.
The colors are rich and saturated, of course, you can blend them out, but I think that they look especially beautiful and unique when they’re applied in a thick layer.
I own 4 eyeshadows, and each has a different formula.

Now to the colors.
# 01 LOVE OVERDOSE
Extremely bright pink with cold undertones. The formula is thick and creamy, and you have to make an effort to pick it up with a brush. But it’s also very blendable.
The eyeshadow is applied evenly, without building patches or clumps. It’s better to apply it onto moisturized skin.
I use a dense makeup brush or simply my fingers.
On the eyelid, the eyeshadow hardens quickly, without crumbling or falling off, and stays on throughout the whole day. These eyeshadows don’t smudge when it’s hot or rainy.
I don’t think that it’s possible to create a nude day makeup with this color, but you can invent countless bold looks with it, using other eyeshadows, eye pencils etc. - that’s limited only by your imagination.
My make up is quite simple, though: pink eyeshadows + black pencil
But since the shade # 01 LOVE OVERDOSE is so pink, maybe it can be used on the lips as well. Why not?
When applied solo, it can dry my lips out, but it works great as a top coat for any other lipstick.
I just applied the color with patting movements in the middle of the lips. It was hard to blend.
Another feature of this shade is that it leaves a long lasting tint on my skin. Even after I’ve removed this eyeshadow, my eyelids are pink, but the tint doesn’t make them look tired or sore.
This eyeshadow can be also used as a blush. Since NYX VIVID BRIGHTS CREME COLOR is so persistent, it will work for anyone, both for those with oily skin as well as for those with dry skin, because the eyeshadow won’t give this unpleasant tightness and won’t make dry spots stand out.
# 02 AQUA SAPPHIRE
Very beautiful and bright mint shade.
It’s hard to dislike it, even though it isn’t suitable for daily makeup. But it’s so incredibly beautiful! It’s vivid, not too dark and will look especially gorgeous on swarthy skin and with brown eyes.
The formula is creamy, but again you need to make an effort to pick it up with a brush, The eyeshadow is thick. As a result, we get a very saturated color. I only wish this color was softer!
Lasts all day and gives a velvety finish.
You should blend this eyeshadow quickly once it’s applied, otherwise it will harden and therefore become less blendable.
AQUA SAPPHIRE doesn’t really go with my green eyes, but it’s easy to use plus you can invent a lot of makeups with it.
Here I just darkened the corner of the eyelid with "gray sand" from the Perfect Filter palette.
Well, I decided to use this eyeshadow as a makeup base for NYX Pigments. The shades combine great, but this eyeshadow is not sticky enough and therefore it was hard to apply the pigments.
But most of all I like to do winged eyeliners with this eyeshadow! I used the brush from the Maybelline Gel Eyeliner kit.
The eyeshadow is perfect for this task and can be easily used to draw both thick and thin lines. The eye makeup doesn’t smear, crack or smudge, and stays put for a really long time.
The pink eyeshadow has the same properties, although it’s a bit softer than this one.
The winged eyeliners are great with this eyeshadow, they are really bold and enhance the makeup.
Here is an option I can offer for everyday wear, but for those girls who are already accustomed to bold makeups.
# 12 PILLOW TALK
Gray-lilac shade on a beige base.
When applied solo, looks unfinished.
The formula is soft and creamy, easy to apply and really blendable, more elastic, than the previous two shades. There is one drawback, though: the eyeshadow doesn’t dry completely and is wet to the touch.
The eyeshadow doesn’t slide off into the crease and doesn’t fade.
Even though the color is suitable for everyday wear, but I find it too blank and boring.
Another look
In combination with NYX VIVID BRIGHTS CREME COLOR
Makeup with creamy and plum eyeshadows.
As I have already mentioned, #12 Pillow Talk is sticky and one has to be careful when combining it with dry eyeshadows.
That’s what we get in the end.
The eyeshadow is great as a base color in combination with other shades, but I don’t recommend using it solo.
# 04 SUGAR RUSH
That’s my favorite. Milky lavender, the lightest in my collection, but at the same time quite vivid.
The formula is gorgeous and resembles a gentle mousse.
The color payoff is wonderful. The eyeshadow is easy to blend and distribute on the eyelids.
If the shades of AQUA SAPPHIRE and LOVE OVERDOSE are better to be applied onto the moistened (not powdered) skin, then in this case, there is no difference, the eyeshadows are blendable on any surface and the lasting power is cool anyway.
In this makeup I used the # 04 SUGAR RUSH shade, plum eyeshadows from the Perfect Filter palette and the # 12 PILLOW TALK on the lower eyelid.
The eyeshadow is highly pigmented and long-lasting, plus the formula makes the application process quite easy.
