I’m really interested in the launches by Sephora ‘cause I think they have decent products like the #lipstories line with their unique designs and variety of great colors. There were failures too, though, like eyeshadows, for example, which I swear I’ll never buy again.
Some time ago I saw the Lip Stain Metal line with 20 trendy metallic colors, from ordinary beige \ red \ pink to blue and green.
I chose the most neutral shade 109 pink lollipop. This is a very decent peach pink with tiny shimmers. I like such colors and have a few similar lipsticks in my collection, so I grabbed this one without hesitations.
The lipstick comes in the most ordinary bullet with an applicator.
The smell is nice, sweet, and somewhat chocolate.
There is a delightful bonus: there are avocado Oil and vitamin E in the ingredients, which means that the lipstick has caring properties too.
The formula is pretty runny but it dries completely within a minute after application, leaving a thick matte finish with metallic shimmer particles all over it.
The lasting power of the lipstick is rather mediocre, maybe it’s because it’s pale, but it settles into tiny fine lines on the lips' surface and it looks gross.
Unfortunately, the color I chose looks way too pale, or I’d even say, cheap on my lips. Despite the avocado oil, the lipstick dries my lips out. It looks okay within the first 10 minutes after application, then it starts clumping and looking patchy. It’s such a huge downside for me!
I doubt I would buy a lipstick from this line again, though maybe I should try out a more pigmented color, who knows. it’s well known that lipsticks from the same line may have different quality.
Sad but true. Not recommended.
