Matte lipsticks are becoming more and more popular nowadays. There isn’t a cosmetic brand that hasn’t released its own matte liquid lipstick.
One of the most popular and affordable products of this segment are the Seventeen All Day Lip Colors.
The design is unique. At both ends there’s a product. At one it’s a liquid lipstick and at the other there's a lip gloss. Both products are housed in plastic tubes 3.5ml each.
The liquid lipstick has a creamy consistency which turns matte a few moments after application. It’s difficult to apply the product evenly, especially on the inner part of the lips. I don’t know if it comes only to this very shade or if all the products in the line are of the same quality. The product defines flaking lips, that’s obvious.
The staying power is about 5-6 hours. If you are going to have a meal with this lipstick on, then I have to upset you and say that you’d better not to do it. It’ll chip and come off unevenly and this will look horrible all in all.
I don’t like layering this lipstick as there’s no sense in doing so. It is drying for my lips but not as much as MAC liquid lipsticks for example.

I rubbed each swatch and pressed my fingers on them tightly. As you can see the Seventeen didn’t budge or stain my finger.
So, the Seventeen lipstick can be worn outside but only if you don’t eat. And bear in mind that it’ll take time to apply this lipstick evenly and well.
As for the lip gloss, it’s a usual product for me. Nothing special about it. It’s thick to some extent in consistency and in general it provides a good glossy finish. All in all, a usual affordable lip gloss.
I bought the product because of the color of the lipstick. My #01 color is a tender pinky shade that makes my lips look fairer. Such colors are not actually mine, they compliment only some kinds of makeup looks and aren't suitable for everyday wear.
I like wearing this product, even though it’s better not to smile very widely with this on, as it’ll show the patchiness on the inside of the mouth. If I wear it with a lip gloss over, I can see that it dissolves the lipstick and there are a lot of patches that appear, especially if you applied more than 1 layer.
And of course the glossy finish takes away the staying power of the product. 2-3 hours max. But the glossy product is way easier to remove from the lips.
Despite all the stated above disadvantages, I will still wear this lipstick from time to time. I can recommend it for buying as the color selection is rich and you’ll definitely find yours. I guess that the quality depends on the shade and this is the matter of luck if you get a good quality product.
Price: $4-5. But I bought it on sale.
