Hi lovelies!
I had pretty good experiences with the Smashbox Studio Skin Foundation and their Step-By-Step Contour Kit, so I decided to give this lipstick a go.
The packaging is compact and metal-like. The cap closes tightly and securely, so it won’t pop open in a purse. I don’t have any gripes about the tube. It’s of good quality, minimalistic yet stunning.
The lipstick itself has a soft and creamy formula that goes on slick. It ensures quite a thick coverage and the color applies evenly right in the first go, but it can be a little bit streaky. It won’t exaggerate peeling and it doesn’t set into my lip lines. To top it off, it neither bleeds nor creases. It wears off gradually, whereas it looks decent.
I haven’t noticed any particular lip caring properties, but my lips feel comfortable wearing it. It’s better to remove it before eating anything, because it won’t survive a meal. The wear time is 4-5 hours, but it fades away bit by bit in about 2 hours after application.
The shade Melondrama is absolutely not typical for me. It’s an orange-coral shade that gets a hint of warm red on me for some reason. However, it looks pink even in the picture.
I don’t feel comfortable when I have this lipstick on. It seems too orange-y for me, but it looks alright when I have a tanned skin tone.
In the photos you can see that the lipstick settles down into my lip lines and doesn't look very even in some areas.
All in all, I liked the Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick range, but it has its issues. I picked up the shade that doesn’t suit me, but I’m sure it will be for somebody’s liking.
Oh, and this shade looks different on different people.
Price: $21.
Thank you for stopping by! Be always beautiful and happy shopping!
