6. Packaging: it’s a thick plastic which looks like glass with a textured top cap. The product was initially packed with a box with a print of leather.

The box has all the needed info on it - ingredients list, batch code, and the animal cruelty-free sign.

Shelf life - 12 months.

The applicator is flat and doe-foot. It’s soft, gentle and not scratchy at all. The stopper inside is great, it wipes off all the undesired amount and never stains the rims of the tube. I love this applicator a lot because it’s handy to outline my lips with.

8. Product characteristics and my opinion about it: I liked this Tarteist™ Lip Bling the very moment I looked through the preview on the site. Judging by the swatches, it looked like exactly like what I was looking for. I used to think that it would be a lip gloss with the finest glitter of a fair metallic color. I wanted to wear it solo in the summer when my skin would be more tanned. But something clearly went wrong and now I can wear it only on top of other lippies because it doesn't look good alone on my lips.

The product isn’t perfect characteristics-wise, though I can still live with its drawbacks. The texture here is thick, jelly-like and a little bit greasy to the touch. It’s tacky but it’s good because this tacky texture makes it stay over any lipstick. No scent.

It applies well over any lipstick, doesn't dissolve it or blend into.

It can make the darker lipsticks a little bit lighter in color because the topper is very pigmented and not sheer at all. Looking through the swatches below, you’ll see that the product is highly pigmented. It nicely covers up my skin color, given that I applied the swatches with one stroke and didn’t pack.

I don’t like wearing this product solo on my lips because I hate that tacky feel.

Secondly, when I use it on my nude lips, the coverage feathers and creases (you’ll see the pictures below).

It doesn’t look good over my fair skin and it’s better to wear it when you’re tanned.

2. Tarte + liquid matte Huda Beauty lippie in the shade Bombshell. It’s my favorite option. I have three different shades of Huda lippies and they all dry out my lips like there’s no tomorrow. Besides, after drying down they all define my lip texture too badly. And the Tarte product works wonders with it - it doesn’t let them dry down and makes them more comfortable while wearing. When I wear the Huda Beauty lipsticks, I always struggle a desire to wash them off within 3 minutes of application, while here the Tarte top coat neutralizes that feeling.

I love that couple and wear it a lot.

3. Tarte lippie + Catrice Matte Lip Artist liner. This pair also looks good, however, the Tarte topper makes it appear less pigmented. But I take it as an advantage. I can actually mute any lipstick of mine with this lip bling.

For my own convenience, I apply the topper with a brush. Sometimes I can also pat it with my fingertips for better coverage. However, it isn’t a must because the product has pliant texture and it does apply smoothly on top of any lipstick - liquid, matte or creamy.

4. Tarte top coat + NYX liquid Suede Cream in the shade Club Hopper. I don’t like this product mainly because of its color but the topper turns it into a more wearable one. Moreover, it also conceals the flaws of the NYX product, I mean it's patchy finish.

As you can see in the pictures, the shimmer here is the finest and undetectable. The top coat offers a glossy finish which is also said to be blinding.

Too blinding, I’d say. The product clings to my skin due to that tacky texture. When I wash it off, I can see some glowing shimmering particles on my skin.

Currently, this is my favorite lip product which I use as a lip topper. Earlier before, I used to use the Lime Crime Diamond Crushers for me, where the shimmer was chunkier and more obvious.

It’s noteworthy that these two babes have similar designs and the textured top caps. Well, that’s strange…

The main drawback of this Tarte product is that I can’t wear it solo.

First of all, it doesn’t feel comfortable on my lips then and secondly, that streaking, feathering and budging piss me off all the time.

But, when I use it on top of any lipstick, all its drawbacks disappear and there’s no more tackiness and the coverage feels so smooth. It’s a great top coat, no flaws about it. Well, maybe just a small one - I always feel too lazy to wash a brush off after application.

This top coat will adorn any lipstick. If you’re sick and tired of a matte finish (hello to you from me!) - try this blinding topper.

My rate - 4 stars.
