Pros: easy blending, staying power
Cons: plastic case, pricey

Hello!

During some Christmas sales I decided to treat myself with some cosmetic products. And I actually remembered that I wanted to try the Urban Decay"Ultimate Basics"eyeshadow palette a really long time ago. There were a lot of bargains and I eventually bought this beauty.

Is the palette worth the price it has? We’ll speak about it a little bit later.

Packaging

I should start with the packaging, shouldn’t I? Laughing out loud If you get what I mean, then you’ve probably already guessed that I mean the bag that the sales reps actually put my palette in at the store. I think that the bag really deserves your attention too.

It means that the manufacturer does think about its buyers, especially those ones who value aesthetic beauty in every detail. It’s always pleasant to get a beautifully packed product, right? And it’s even more pleasant if it’s packed in a beautiful bag. Laughing out loud I like it very much. I think I would present something to somebody in it. Smile

So now, let’s pass over to the palette packaging. Again, here we can see a cardboard cover. But it isn’t just a piece of a usual cardboard, you know. It’s a very pleasant to the touch cover with the brands name and collection on it - Naked.

I won’t describe it in every detail. I’ll tell you only that I’m head over heels with this package. I can’t throw it away. Smile

And now, the palette and refill pans of it by the daytime and artificial lights.

Is it really as sassy as it looked on the internet?

Honestly, I was a little bit upset when I saw the palette in life. I didn’t expect that the plastic of the compact would look so cheap for such a price of the palette. Even my boyfriend commented upon that. The design is undoubtedly beautiful, but the materials that they used weren’t expensive and look really simple. I take off a star for it. So, speaking about the price, I deem that it’s too high for the product. This is my subjective opinion. I have the first palette by Urban Decay which is also by Naked Basics collection and I have to admit that its packaging looks original and more attractive in comparison with this one.

This is where the list of disadvantages ends. Let’s open the palette? Smile

I took the pictures by the day- and artificial lights.

I’m obsessed with these eyeshadows! They are literally the everyday wear eye shadows of my dream! Of course if you aren’t into makeup and don’t do it on a regular basis, then this palette isn’t for you. But if you are the same eyeshadow junkie as me (I’ll be a makeup artist in the future) and you love experimenting with colors, then I can highly recommend this palette. Here are some more pictures. Just have a look at this beauty.

Properties

Right here I want to say - if you haven’t ever tried the matte eyeshaows by this brand, or from any other brand like MAC or Inglot, then touching them for the first time might bring you a wrong sensation that the eyeshadows are bad quality-wise and not well pigmented.

The UD eyeshadows are actually really “delicate” for me. They are just impossible to overdo or make something wrong.

You know, the pigmentation of the shades is always a very important factor, but it doesn’t always work for the best.

The products are dry texture-wise. They are easy to pick up with a brush.

Each refill pan houses a lot of each product. Considering their dry texture, it means that you’ll need the tiniest bit for your makeup. So, I can conclude that the product will go a long way.

Because of the texture, I’s pretty difficult to swatch the products.

Here you can also see that one of the colors isn’t visible. I guess that it’s the Pre-Game, because it has the same color as my skin.

All the colors from the palette are matte, except this one. It has a tender satin finish and looks fantastic on my mobile lid and brow bone. I like applying eyeshadows on my eyebrow bone, even though some color may look too active and well only in the pictures.

Nude

Nude

Gentle light-brown shade, that is a little bit darker than my skin color. It’s ideal for the light darkening of the crease.

Commando

That’s an interesting shade with a very interesting name. This one is a tad darker than the Nude color. Actually, both these shades are perfect for a wash of color effect and a very neat makeup. I also can’t say for sure whether they are cool- or warm-toned. They are just versatile and that’s it.

This is a transition color of the previous one, that is a tad darker.

Instinct

Well, this babe reminded me of the famous Haux shade by MAC. It’s such a lilac-brown toned color that goes easily with any eye color and any makeup look.

No, it isn’t brown as it might look in the photo. (on the right). This is also one of those complicated shades with vinous and purple undertones. It’s deep and beautiful. It’ll be nice to darken the outer corners or for the crease. It’ll also look beautiful on the lash line.

Extra bitter

This is the only shade that is dry and buttery at the same time. The color is very unusual. And I guess that pretty brave girls can wear it on a daily basis. You can also find a use for it as of the previous color.

Faith

The lower row presents us with more warm-toned shades, but it doesn’t mean that they are less beautiful. The lower row is also great to come up with a stunning wash of colors effect, as well as to create a neat makeup look.

Lockout

This one is more cool-toned and a tad darker than the previous color. The darker the shade, the easier it is to see it in the photo Laughing out loud This is why it’s so difficult to take pictures of the nude eyeshadow palettes. I hope that you do believe all my descriptions.

Magnet

Gray, really magnet color. I mean it always magnets the attention. It isn’t an everyday wear option for me, though I wish that I could wear it soon.

Blackjack

True black color. It isn’t too vibrant, but it’s perfect for the neat makeup and darkening of the crease, lining the lash line, etc.

Overall

I’m totally delighted with this palette. I can forgive it for everything, except its disadvantages, which I’ve mentioned above. I can recommend this palette, if you find it discounted.

Thanks a million for your attention, I’ll be really happy to see you in my other reviews! Smile
