The Wet n Wild lipsticks are very popular among YouTube bloggers and recently I’ve found two of them in my lipstick collection Smile

The design is very simple: black plastic tube with a see-through top cap. The most inconvenient thing for me is that the stick doesn’t come into the tube fully and is always nicked while putting a cap on. Though, that’s rather obvious since the price is very affordable. I have the lipsticks in two shades: 906D Wine Room and 902C Bare It All:

Swatches on the skin:

On the swatches the lipsticks look good and show good pigmentation, no patches, though…

Scent: Since I have a very sensitive nose, the scent is a very important factor for me. So, the products are made in China, and they smell respectively. No fragrance or perfume agents there, so the products smell of something plastic. Well, I’m not impressed at all.

Product says:

This is basically our Magnum Opus of lipstick—it’s the one thing we absolutely MUST put on when we’ve got a cocktail party or black tie event. This 4-hour, longwearing lip color leaves a semi-matte cream finish in one stroke. Glides on easily with rich, velvety color that doesn’t cake, feather, or bleed. Made with hydrating skin-care ingredients: Hyaluronic Microspheres provide extraordinary adhesion to lips, an exclusive polymer complex offers cushion-like feel and texture, and natural marine plant extracts coenzyme Q10 and vitamins A & E help smooth lips.

I’ll start with my bare lips:

And this is how my lips look with the lipstick on:

906D Wine Room:

At the moment when I was taking these shots, my lips were a little bit chapped and I know that regular lipstick might have concealed that problem, but the Mega Last Lip Color accentuated all the flaking, even though the manufacturer claims the opposite. It’ll define all the flaking, even if you’ve never noticed it before. And you know, the 906D Wine Room looks way better in comparison with the other shade that you’ll see… The most interesting is waiting for you below.

902C Bare It All:

Well, that’s trash. The lipstick has accentuated all the disadvantages on my lips, even those that I’ve never expected to exist. What’s more, I expected this shade to be more nude-like (as it looked on the swatch) but no, on the lips it looks pale orange and such colors don’t actually flatter me. They hardly ever flatter anybody, indeed. To make matters worse, the lipsticks aren’t as long-wearing as promised. They can stay on for 3 hours max with no meals. The lipsticks don’t moisturize my lips, on the contrary, they dry them out a lot.

I’m dissatisfied with this product, starting with the inconvenient design and finishing with the awful chemical scent and shitty performance on the lips. Lasting power? No. Drying out my lips and showing the disadvantages where there weren’t any? Yes.

My verdict is - much ado about nothing. These lipsticks are overpraised by beauty bloggers for nothing. For the advantages I can put only the extended shade range and the price tag, as we all know that matte lipsticks by any other brand cost much more.

Should we chase these lipsticks and eventually get the disappointing result? I think no. I’ll keep on using my favorite NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream and NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick while these ones by Wet n Wild are going into a bin.
