We all are looking forward to the summer, so it’s high time to share with you my experience with the sunscreen.

I already had holidays in another countries, but unfortunately I didn’t happen to hang out at the beach and swim in the sea. However, I still protected my skin from the sun rays.

Right off the bat, it performed really well, but one day I forgot to apply it to my skin and you know what? My skin was red!

I have fair skin that gets sunburnt easily. However, it doesn’t get so red.

Well, I used this cream in the heat in another country and now I’m ready to tell you something about the results.

Avene Emulsion SPF 50+

The emulsion is traditionally housed in a paper package like all Avene products.

Ingredients:

The emulsion itself comes in a soft plastic tube with a pump and not that ordinary flip top. It’s my favorite and the most convenient packaging for me!

The emulsion is a little bit yellowish and has barely any smell to it.

The texture: As you know many sunscreens have quite a thick texture. As for this cream, I wouldn’t call it thick yet not weightless. It’s an emulsion after all that is lighter than a cream.

You better not overdo it, because it may look mask-like with a hint of purple, which will be really noticeable. And again, it’s not really a downside, it’s more like a peculiarity of this sunblock.

The manufacturer promises waterproof texture. I haven’t tried it in water, so I can’t say anything about it. Plus, I wouldn’t like to waste the product and apply it to any areas except my face. I think I can use less expensive sunscreens for my body, legs and hands.

On coming home from the heat outside, I was always washing my face under the streaming water. I noticed that this emulsion removes completely only after the fifth try.

Now about the protection from the sun. At the beginning of the review I said that the emulsion does a really good job.

I’ve been applying the product obediently for the first two days and was good. My skin was alright and not red even when I was in the sun all day.

However, on the third day I forgot to use it and got sunburnt around midday.

It was especially bad with my face, hands and neck. After that I used the Avene emulsion along with a specific cream every day.

It’s also noteworthy that my skin is smooth and moisturized after washing!

PROS:

Non-scented

Broad spectrum sun protection

Doesn’t make my skin look greasy

Lightweight formula, at least for a sunblock

Soaks in quickly

A little goes a long way

My skin feels moisturized after use

The only setback is that this emulsion dries out in the nozzle quickly and then this dry clump is surely hard to spread out on the skin, which makes this precious product last less.

Yes, I realize that there is just a teeny amount in the nozzle, but the emulsion is pricey, so I don’t want to waste even 5 ml out of 50 ml.

Volume: 50 ml

Price: £12.00

Made in France.

The stuff is recommended for normal to combination and sensitive skin.
