Hello everybody! Today I’m sharing my thoughts on the camomile toning lotion by the French brand Clarins. I used to have a toning lotion by this brand with aloe vera and I can say that I really liked it. Of course I can’t say that it was perfect for me but I liked using it a lot.
I didn’t want to repurchase that aloe vera toner, that is why I decided to try the most popular toner by the brand.
So meet the Clarins Toning Lotion With Camomile
Design - I have the biggest bottle with the product that the brand offers which is 400ml. It’s has a very convenient pump dispenser which works nice and doesn't throw the toner out.
On the bottle you can read all the product’s info like manufacturer and list of ingredients. I want to say it right here that the bottle isn’t travel-friendly at all. I never take it with me, as it’s too bulky so I always have to use it only at home.
Scent. Well, the scent it here, it’s rather potent and long-lasting. I wouldn’t say that the lotion by Clarins smells of natural camomile, no, on the contrary, it smells of some perfume. It reminds me of a mixture of camomile and some other flower scents. The smell isn’t off putting but I’m not raving about it. I especially don’t like that it’s too chasing and potent.
Consistency - Almost any toning lotion that I tried before had very runny and water-like consistency. This one by Clarins seems to be a tad thicker and it isn’t as runny as water.
Use and result
My skin is of combination type. It’s sensitive and sometimes I have acne and blackheads. I also suffer from enlarged pores as well as pigmentation (this appeared after a holiday near the sea). I can also see that there are small horizontal wrinkles starting to appear on my forehead.
In winter, my skin becomes drier and requires additional moisture and nourishment.
I really appreciate that this toning lotion isn’t drying to my skin. There’s no alcohol in the ingredients, this is why the product really moisturizes my skin. However, after using, I can feel the presence of some thin and sticky film over my face.
As I’ve already mentioned, the smell of this toning lotion is rather lingering and I don’t like it at all.
I have sensitive skin but the product didn’t irritate it or made any harm.
I can’t say for sure if this product clogs my pores or not. I was using this Clarins Toning Lotion With Camomile along with different face creams like the one by La Roche-Posay and the one with Hyaluronic Acid and the lotion was pretty good if paired with these products. But when I used it with the L’Occitane Precious Cream, I noticed that my pores became more clogged but maybe this was the cream and not the lotion clogging them, I don’t know.
Ingredients
Of course I understand that the Clarins brand doesn't scream that they only use natural ingredients. But still, in my opinion there are too many synthetic colorants and perfume agents.
Overall - I was using this Clarins Camomile toning lotion for a very long time. I liked its big bottle and convenient dispenser. I also value the absence of alcohol here.
But in all other respects I didn’t like this product, so I won’t repurchase.
Price - 21 euro for 400ml
I purchased it from a duty-free shop.
