It seemed that this huge jar would be a great helper for my skin, since I had a rather positive experience with cocoa infused butter products before. I really hoped that this cream would be of great use to me and of course that it would be wholesome and natural. And yeah, this is a cream actually, not a butter, despite what’s said on the jar.
But in reality, this cream is pretty different from what I expected to get. The first use immediately brought me a sensation of a talc infused formula. And it didn't feel chunky texture-wise, no, but the residue that it left behind looked white. This is why I always have to rub it into my skin thoroughly to make this residue vanish.
I also want to draw your attention to the white bits of the formula on the jar screw. This is what I’m actually talking about.
It may seem as though this is what the product was meant to be, but no. I can’t actually get any moisture on my skin from it.
The list of ingredients:
Water (aqua), stearic acid, cocoa butter (theobroma cacao), mineral oil (paraffinum liquidum), cetyl alcohol, triethanolamine, polysorbate 20, EDTA, methylparaben, propylparaben, DMDM hydantoin, fragrance (parfum), FD&C yellow no. 5 (Cl 19140).
It’s far from being natural, I deem. All those components which aren’t natural are probably used to make the consistency of the cream look more butter-like. And I also have an impression that there isn’t so much of the cocoa butter used.
The scent is more likely to be chemical, rather than natural. It isn't off-putting or anything, but still, I don’t take it as natural when I sniff it.
It’s better to apply the cream when it’s warm outside. I mean you’d better store it in a warm place or apply it over your warm skin right after having a shower or a bath. Maybe those chunky bits, which I mentioned above, are actually the cocoa butter and they melt down over my warm skin, I don’t know. I also think that it would be good to apply this cream over your wet skin.
Even though my skin feels smooth after I rub the product into it, it still feels as though my skin is dry or something. Yet at the same time I don’t feel like the product is still present. This is why it’s some kind of a “dry moisture” for me.
