Pros: a little goes a long way, hydrates, it makes my skin glow with health, it works well as a makeup primer, sinks in quickly

They started to buzz about this product about 3 years ago. All the makeup artists as well as Insta divas were praising this moisturizer. It seemed as though makeup of Hollywood stars didn’t travel down and in general seemed beautiful thanks only to this French Embryolisse concentrate. It also promised to make the skin relief look evened out, make it look glowing with health and in general look it’s best. So, naturally I needed 2 packs at once.

Facing reality, I found out that the price of the product was Oh My Gosh! $34 for a 75 ml tube. And of course I really like the human logic here. For us it’s okay to pay the same bucks for the Chanel or Dior product, but with the Embryolisse concentrate it was way more difficult for me. After all, no one knew what’s inside that white and blue beautiful pack.

And I deem that the hype would really pass by me, if only my friend hadn’t visited Europe and bought it for me for 7 or 8 euros with a huge discount. The price difference is pretty hefty, isn’t it?

So, what actually is the Embryolisse concentrate?

Now, I’m going to disappoint a lot of people. Guys, it’s a usual moisturizing cream. Well, maybe not a cream exactly, because of its liquid texture, the word concentrate would be better here. But the thing is that in France (which is actually the country of origin of the product), they use this product as a regular moisturizer or as a baby cream. Do you get it? No one uses it as a makeup primer.

The product comes with two tube sizes - 30 ml and 75 ml.

Mine has 75 ml. The tube is made of metal, which isn’t actually very convenient and moreover, the tube loses its trade dress completely after a few uses.

The package quickly becomes bended and it doesn’t look pleasant at all. This isn’t a thought out feature of the product, though it isn’t very critical for me. At first the product comes packaged with a cardboard box, but I’ve already thrown it away.

Consistency- As it was already mentioned, the consistency of the product is pretty liquid. But it doesn’t mean that it’s runny. On the contrary, the formula is very easy to distribute over my skin and thanks to such texture, it sinks in really quickly. The spending of the product is minimal, one pea-sized drop will be enough to apply all over my skin. The aroma seems to be neutral, there’s some sour note to it, but I really associate it more with a baby cream. The color is white and there’s no white residue left on my skin after application. Of course it comes to the cases only when you don’t overdo with the cream.

The list of ingredients of the Embryolisse concentrate:

Aqua. Paraffinum Liquidum. Stearic Acid. Glyceryl Stearate. Triethanolamine. Cera Alba. Cetyl Palmitate. Butyrospermum Parkii. Steareth-10. Polyacrylamide C13-14 Isoparaffin. Laureth-7. Propylene Glycol, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Aloe Barbadensis. 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol. Tropolone. Parfum.

Nothing intricate. It’s more for dry skin types, because the product is really hydrating. But it’ll also be good for oily skin. The only thing to remember, if you have oily skin is to apply it with a thin layer, otherwise you risk ending up with your makeup creased and travelled down some time later.

How I use the product:

I haven’t tested this cream on my baby, she isn’t french after all.

For me I’ve found two ways on how to use it:

in the morning I use it as a daily moisturizer (if I’m not going to wear heavy makeup that day) and of course it works as a makeup primer for me. The way of use is always the same. I apply the product with a thin layer over my skin.

It’s true that my foundation applies smooth and even over this concentrate. And there are no flakey bits at all. It also stays on well during the day.

I really appreciate that my makeup stays put and doesn’t move. At the same time I’ve tested a lot of foundation products over the Embryolisse product: fluids, creams, contour shades and regular powders.

I’ve never tried to apply it overnight and I don’t even wanna do it at all.

No allergic reaction appeared, my pores haven’t become clogged and in general my skin looks better and healthier after the use of this moisturizer.

But still I guess that my skin has gotten used to that product. If I use it for quite a while, my skin shows it a lot.

In general, this Embryolisse Concentre has become a magic wand for me. Will I repurchase? Of course I will, even without thinking back. But of course I’ll try to buy it somewhere in Europe, where it’s cheaper. And I do recommend you do the same. The Embryolisse Concentre has gotten all the praise.
