Hi!
I want to tell you about the L’occitane Shea butter hand cream. Initially it was in the set, here it is by the way.
But, today, I’ll speak only about the hand cream.
Product promises:
I took it from the official site, as I have already thrown the packaging of the set and cream away.
This creamy balm with 20 percent shea butter, honey, almond extracts and coconut oil are blended to create this extremely effective formula. The rich texture leaves hands soft and can be applied as often as needed.
Protects, nourishes and moisturizes hands. Leaves hands soft and smooth with no oily traces.
Massage this silky treatment into hands to counter dryness as often as needed.
Size: there are two packaging options of this hand cream - 30 ml and 150 ml. But in my set there was something in between, as I have 75 ml.
Price:
30 ml - $12
150 ml - $28
Packaging:
As always, the set was beautifully packaged. The hand cream itself was in a carton box of the color which really associates with something natural.
Inside there was an aluminium tube. No plastic or anything modern. The tube has a screw top.
Consistency, scent and some other nourishing effects:
The cream is white and thick. Its scent is very expensive. It smells like something sweet and floral, with powder notes, as the entire Shea butter collection.
And, the magic happens when you start to apply it onto your hands. Your hands will definitely become greasy and have an oily shine. Be ready, that it’ll take a half an hour or even more to absorb! So, I haven’t found how to use it during the day, as it leaves greasy traces on my clothes and there’s a bit of oily film on my hands afterwards. It’s so inconvenient! Unfortunately, in the photo you can’t see how greasy my hand is.
Of course, you can apply it overnight and massage while fully absorbed. But, that would mean doing nothing, nothing to touch, even the TV remote, just sit and massage your hands.
This product nourishes my hands well, that’s true. Maybe I need to try to wear gloves, after the application of this cream. But I don’t like anything on my hands or feet while sleeping, I don’t know....
Honestly, I haven’t noticed any dramatic skin improvement. Maybe this is because I use it only once a day and can’t use during the day. I presume to see the great before and after difference you need to use this hand cream at least three times a day.
And here comes one advantage, the product goes a really long way. I don’t apply much, as it’ll never absorb then.
Ingredients:
The main ingredient in this hand cream is Shea butter (20%).
Hands speak your age - but not indelibly. Shea Butter is used traditionally by African woman to soothe and smooth skin exposed to Earth's fiercest ultraviolet conditions, and now can help relieve and restore yours. Massage this silky treatment into hands to counter dryness as often as needed.
In the ingredients, besides essential oils, I’ve found one silicone, one oil-product and even alcohol! I don’t like these ingredients.
By the way, in the ingredients I haven’t found any ylang-ylang or jasmin. Maybe, they mean that there’s only the scent of them. But, after reading their promises, I expected to see the essential oils of those, but not the perfume agent…
Generalization:
Honestly, I have no idea why this hand cream is best-selling by L’occitane. If it hadn't been so pricey, I might have forgiven it all its disadvantages. That’s why I don’t recommend it. I think this is the first time I’m so upset about the L’occitane product (I love many of their products so much).
If you have persistent desire to try this hand cream out, then please buy a smaller tube, not to be upset very much later on…
