Hello!
Recently, I found a bottle of Lady GAGA Fame perfume on my perfume shelf. I began to wear it again and thought, why not remind you about it? Maybe there are some people who will look at it as a discovery.
Four years ago I began to become interested in the world of perfumes and I was really enjoying the oriental scents. I think that was the reason why I fell in love with this perfume then. And of course I was a fan of Lady Gaga, I really liked her as a singer. I bought this bottle in Madrid, as soon as it was released (it was the fall of 2012).
I can remember that PR campaign at Sephora well - in every corner there were advertising posters with naked Lady GAGA, and next to them there were racks with a huge number of bottles with the black liquid.
That exact day, I wanted to buy something. You know, there are days when you just walk around the shop with a great desire to treat yourself with something and the only problem you have is that you don’t know what to buy. So that’s why I headed to the racks with the Lady GAGA perfume. I tested it, became impressed and bought a 50 ml bottle. I was quite happy with it. I was using it without thinking of notes or pyramide scent, I just liked it. Then, my perfume collection started to grow and I put Lady Gaga Fame aside. It was just reminding me of those happy days spent in Spain.
The name of the product:
Lady GAGA Fame
General characteristics:
A Unisex fragrance. The group of scent: oriental and floral.
The date of the release: 22 august 2012
Eau de Parfum - 30 ml, 50 ml, 100 ml.
Two versions of the perfume were released: a less expensive version, which includes a smaller bottle with a plastic cap, while a more expensive "premiere edition", known as Le Masterpiece, includes a larger bottle with a solid metal cap.
The characteristics of the fragrance and notes:
Reports circulated in early 2012 that Gaga wanted the perfume to smell of blood and semen. However, the singer stated that while the perfume was based on the molecular structure of the two substances, it would not smell of them. She further explained that the blood element was based on a sample her own blood molecules to create "a sense of having me on your skin". Rather than blood and semen, she said that the perfume would smell like an "expensive hooker".
The packaging lists the perfume's notes as "tears of belladonna, crushed heart of tiger orchidea with a black veil of incense, pulverized apricot and the combinative essences of saffron and honey drops".
According to the product packaging, instead of the pyramidal structure used in most perfumes, Lady Gaga Fame uses "push-pull technology", where the ingredients demonstrate aspects of each note without precedence. Rather than utilizing top, middle, and base notes, the perfume is based on three accords – "dark" (containing the Belladonna notes), "sensual" (containing the honey, saffron, and apricot notes), and "light" (containing the Tiger Orchid notes) which come together to produce a floral, fruity scent.
The design:
The bottle was designed by Lady Gaga herself and by the photographer Nick Knight.
The outrageous Lady Gaga couldn't get by with a usual bottle. She added a ridiculous golden cap in the shape of foolish crown, which reminded me of the pincers of some fantastical insect, spider or so. At first I couldn’t get used to that cap, it even annoyed me, but then I somehow got used to it or probably just started to open the bottle less often.
I have a less expensive version, which includes a smaller bottle with a plastic cap. For the time I’ve been using it, the cap hasn't become scratched, which is already good. It closes tightly with a click.
The spray pump works excellently to this very day.
Most of all, I'm attracted by the liquid which is in the bottle, because it's black. Whether it’s magic, illusion, chemical reaction, but once the perfume is sprayed on the skin or clothes, it becomes transparent.
How I feel this perfume today and its lasting power.
I can’t tell you anything about how it was four years ago, but today once I spray it, I can smell the fruit alcohol. It takes a few minutes to set and then I can smell the mix of fruit and floral composition with spicy notes. It’s potent. And I’d even say SWEET. The ones who don't love oriental fragrances won’t like this perfume. I’m quite delighted with the scent. What’s more, now and I use this perfume with great pleasure. It’s time for it to see the world which isn’t limited by my perfume shelf.
With time the perfume on my skin becomes softer and it turns into apricot and honey scents.
I want to warn you to not spray too much on your skin, one spray will be enough for you and the others to notice it. More than one spray will be enough to give you and everybody a migraine.
The lasting power is about 3-4 hours max.
My conclusion:
The advertising campaign and the inside of that bottle don’t coincide at all. It’s very feminine, warm, sweet, oriental perfume for everyday wearing when it’s cold outside. There’s no outrageous behavior, extreme, latex clothing, sexuality, hypnosis or anything that they promised. I feel it as a fruit juice. It’s pleasant sweet juice which helps me to warm up.
Of course, I won’t buy it again.
Made in Italy.
Four years ago I bought it for 26.5 euros. But now the price for a 50ml bottle is about $50.
Thanks for your attention!
Yours faithfully,
