Hello guys!
Today I’m reviewing the Clinique Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen.
I bought this product almost by chance. At the local store in my city they had a sale and I needed an eyeliner. I wanted to buy a product by Maybelline Master Precise, or L'Oreal So Couture at first. But then I remembered a few days ago that I read a lot of good reviews of the Clinique Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen. Since there was a discount, I decided to give it a go.
General information about the product:
Clinique's mistake-proof pen creates a clean line in one steady sweep. A tapered, precision brush paints on pure, deep color from thin to thick. 24-hour smudge and budge-resistant wear. Ophthalmologist tested. Allergy tested. 100% fragrance free.
Price: $21 but they had 40% discount
Size: 2 ml or 0.67g or 0.7 oz
Made in Japan
Outer appearance:
The product was initially packed in a usual Clinique cardboard packaging.
Ingredients:
The product comes in two colors: black and brown. I have mine in the #01 Black.
The product is a pen eyeliner. The packaging is glossy and black. All the lettering is of silver color and the quality of them is superb as they don’t fade or get smudged.
The applicator isn’t foam as it usually happens with pen eyeliners, but it’s made of some material that is elastic and very convenient to work with.
The tip is very thin and precise.
My experience with the Clinique Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen:
I’m not a guru when it comes to eyelining but I presume that this product is the best. It allows you to draw a very thin line as well as very thick and graphic flick. Moreover, it gives good color on the first go without patches. It’s called “Pretty Easy” for a reason. The finish isn’t matte but a little bit glossy.
BUT! At first this product was freaking me out so much that I was ready to throw it away! The problem was in the applicator. In the inner corner it always used to give me very thick line that smudged and made me look like a panda in a few hours of wearing. I wish I took a photo of my disastrous look then.
And I don’t know why but with time it stopped doing that disaster and everything is normal now. Probably that was because of the product being new and very runny, and now it dried a bit and the consistency changed, I don’t know.
You know it usually happens with mascaras. They all need time to dry a bit and only after that they show good results.
Even though the product isn’t claimed to be water resistant, it stays on well when it’s raining or if I cry. It’s absolutely resistant to cold water no matter how much you rub your skin. And only in warm water it starts to dissolve a little.
Now my product behaves well and I can be sure that it won’t run or smudge during the day.
This is how it looks in the evening after the entire working day. I think that it looks as though it was just applied.
These are the different flicks I usually wear for you to see. I want to say at once that I can be ham-handed at times, so don’t judge too strictly, please.
Thin flicks for everyday wear:
And thick eyelining for going out:
Overall:
I recommend this eyeliner. Now it deserves all 5 stars, even though at first it was worth 3 stars, so all in all I want to give it 4. At the time being I’ve been using it for 4 months already and it’s still fine and not dry at all. The flicks are always thin (or thick, if I want them to be so) and bright.
Thank you very much for your attention ❤
