My review today is about the classy Dior Rouge in the legendary color 999.
Did you know it’s a cult lipstick, worn by many famous women in the past, and there is a history behind it. It began in 1949...Can you believe this? It’s not just some lipstick!
The new Dior Rouge Lipstick has been enriched with mango oil and hyaluronic acid as well as with some other ingredients which are supposed to ensure comfortable wear throughout the whole day.
Let’s proceed to the review now.
It’s not really matte, I’d say. The finish is more creamy and dewy. The lipstick doesn’t turn into film on my lips and doesn’t bleed.
It applies perfectly, without any gaps and patches. It glides over my lips, leaving a bright rich color behind.
This lipstick has a typical lipstick fragrance. I think that’s what lipsticks smelled like 20 or even 40-50 years ago.
In many promotional photos, the color 999 looks like a noble red with a cold undertone. However, on me it’s a warm scarlet. I have to mention that it doesn’t make my teeth appear yellowish.
The lipstick has a decent lasting power and lasts for 3-4 hours without fatty meals. It can leave stains on the lips, so one has to be careful about it.
I love wearing it as a lip tint. In order to achieve that effect, I remove the upper layer with a napkin and as a result I get a beautiful coverage. At the same time, my lips still looks sensual, bright and beautiful.
