Hello guys! ♡
It’s been a while since I wrote my last lipstick review here. I guess you all have probably forgotten how much I love lipsticks, especially those ones which are of vibrant and unusual shades.
So, my review today is about a dope bluish-purple lipsticks.
Jeffree Star Lip Ammunition
Currently the price is $18 on the official site.
Design
Well, the design really screams “Jeffree Star”. It’s pink, girl-ish, I’d even say too girl-ish.
I’m in love with the design, since I’m obsessed with everything pink. And in general I can say that I like the bullet design here really much.
But there’s a downside, which was honestly a real bummer for me, the product is rather pricey. All those silver stars don’t stay on for long and wipe off over time. Even the street-end bands, aka Essence have very sturdy lettering which is impossible to wipe off from the packaging. But here, it’s a real drawback. Work it out, Jeffree, please.
The name of the shade is given on the casing, as well as on the box itself.
I have my lipstick in the gorgeous color Granddaddy Purp.
Even though I adore unusual and sometimes pretty wild lipstick shades, I still had only one blue Essence lipstick in my collection before.
This is why I want to compare it with the Jeffree Star product.
The lipstick by Essence is dark-blue, while the Jeffree lippie is blue-purple. This shade is super interesting and complicated.
The photo shows it true to life, but still I ponder it looks prettier in reality .
So now, a few words about the lipstick itself. It’s creamy and pliant texture-wise. It’s very easy to apply. I also want to say that it isn’t too soft. The product is non-bleeding and in general, I like the way it sits on my lips.
The shade is vibrant and of course it requires a lip liner to pair with it. I never wear my lipstick without it.
This lippie doesn’t crease with a white film on the inside of my mouth throughout the day. It’s such an advantage for the product, because I have so many lipsticks, which do crease and it’s utterly terrible.
The smell is adorable and vanilla-like.
I’m in love with the shade. It’s really cool. And I guess there are some people who’d say “I’ll never wear such color on my lips”. Guys, I was wearing this lipstick when I had to visit a medical clinic. And there was nobody to look at me like I’m insane or anything. After that, I’m not scared to wear such colors on my lips at all.
The product stays on my lips till the very moment I remove it. That’s why you’ll have to touch-up from time to time. But it’s such a common practice for creamy lipsticks, you know. Nobody has promised a super long-wearing finish after all.
After washing off, the product leaves a brightly-colored pink tint behind. For some people it might be an issue, but for me it’s fine and even funny.
Final thoughts
I liked this lipstick shade very much, I’ve really fallen for it! And of course the formula is good enough. Maybe it doesn’t cost all the $18, but still it’s better than my Essence or any other street-end lipstick quality-wise. I wish it costed less. I don’t mean that the formula is bad or anything, but still the price seems to be too high in my book.
In a nutshell, if you feel fine with the price, then yes, of course I highly recommend you give a shot to this product!
Yours, NataHappiness, see you soon! ♡
