Hello beautiful ladies!
I’m obsessed with colorful eyeliners. I think they are a good option for those who are too shy to wear colorful and bright eyeshadows. Sometimes I don’t have enough time in the morning to draw wings on my eyes, so from a liquid liner I expect not only easy application but also longevity and good staying power.
My attitude towards the professional brand Make Up For Ever is complicated: sometimes I’m head over heels with their product and sometimes I’m absolutely indifferent to it. Well, as for the Aqua Liner, I can say the following: it feels as though there’s something missing about the product.
The packaging is rather usual for an eyeliner. It’s so good that the bottom part of the tube is the same in color as the product inside. It eases the search of the right product in my makeup bag a hundred times.
Size: 1.7 ml, 0.058 oz, that’s a lot, I guess.
The applicator is made of a foam material. It’s small in size which is also very good. The applicator is convenient to work with as it allows you to draw any line, thick or thin depending on what result I need.
My color #40 is a sparkling shade of brilliant green and emerald mixture with an abundance of green-ish shimmer. Thanks to the shimmer, the product has a satin and a little bit “dewy-looking” finish.
The first go and the coverage is already thick and opaque. But I read some reviews where they complained that some colors are sheer and lacked coverage. The product is buildable as the second layer doesn’t break out and drag the first one.
It’s very important to shake the tube before use, or it’ll smudge on the skin because of too runny consistency.
The manufacturer claims that the product is waterproof, but that’s not actually true. I always have watery eyes in the inner corners and a couple of hours after application the product smudges a bit. It’ll live through snow/rain/tears but will not look good.
One more thing that scares a lot of people is that purple, green and blue eyeliners usually leave pigment that is very difficult to remove. And that happens with almost any eyeliner, no matter how much it costs.
This very product leaves some pigment too. I remove it overnight and always see some green-ish hue left on my eyes. But, in the morning when I wash my face, it comes off completely.
All in all, I’m delighted with my Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner. Wide range of shades, easy application and good quality made me fall for it. But still I take one star off for the cons listed above.
Thank you for reading my review!
Be always beautiful and have a nice shopping day!
