Hi girls! 
Even though matte lipsticks seem to be losing their popularity and are gradually giving place to metallics and shiny satin lipsticks, they are still on the top of my mind as matte finishes look best on me.
Recently I replenished my lipstick stash with one more product by Maybelline which is called SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick. This is the 13th lipstick in my collection. What a lucky number isn’t it?
Even before the launch I was watching this beautiful product and really falling for the #15 with a sounding name "Lover".
This time Maybelline really worked on the colors' names, as every color is given a very interesting naming.
So, finally some time ago I have become a lucky owner of the so wanted color.
Out of all the lipsticks that I have I can compare this one by Maybelline only with one lipstick. They are both alike in finish and performance on the lips. What’s more they both claimed to be matte.
Both lipsticks are a little bit sticky and I can feel them present on my lips, though thanks to this consistency we can finally obtain the staying power they show. So I’m not an inch disappointed with this little drawback.
I like this lipstick because:
♥ It is really super lasting. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I went to remove it and I didn’t succeed removing it with micellar water on the first go. I had to rub my lips rather hard, you know.
The product feels nice while wear.
Here are the comparison photos straight after application and within 6 hours of wearing.
For all these 6 hours the lipstick was trialed with 2 meals, one of which was rather light and the other included fatty food.
A few words about the lipstick fading.
I have to say that this Maybelline lipsticks starts fading from the corners of the lips. It’s notable that it stays put on the inside of the mouth.
One more good thing about this lippie is:
- it doesn’t feather at the contours over time as it may usually happen with many other liquid lipsticks that I have.
♥ it’s so nicely designed
I appreciate the sturdy packaging that looks the same as the lipstick color inside and you can always be sure what shade you’ll see on your lips
♥ this color looks gorgeous on the lips. I can say that this is the kind of “my lips but better” shade. The color looks either cool or warm-toned totally depending on the light. But for me it’s more likely to have neutral undertones which can be used in any makeup whether it’s for daytime or evening.
♥ it has a convenient applicator. It’s a doe-foot pointed applicator that takes out and applies the product well.
♥ it has an awesome scent. It smells of something sweet and confectionery for me. I can feel this fragrance lingering on me for at least a half an hour after I applied the lippie.
The bottom line
Here I want to say that not everybody will like this lipstick, as it has some distinctive feature like stickiness. If you ask me, this stickiness doesn’t bother me at all. I got exactly what I expected. I guess makeup artists who are just starting their career may become interested in this Maybelline lipstick as wedding or evening makeups always mean long-wearing lipstick that can easily live through meals, kisses etc. And the SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick meets all the demands here. What’s more, there are so many colors in the collection: tender and nude shades, as well as bright and bold colors.
I deem this lipstick should become a firm fixture of many makeup bags, girls. Give it a go and you’ll probably like it too, as I do.
