Hi!
I can’t go out without foundation, not because my skin is bad, I just got used to a full makeup. And an even skin tone is an essential part of such makeup.
I’m one of those gals who need foundations, concealers, highlighters and blushes to look natural.
So, I have a lot of experience with foundations, even the most ‘defiant’ ones, but of course I don’t like when I have to spend a lot of time applying and blending it, so I would love to find the perfect foundation.
I’ve been using this foundation since summer and now I can finally write a detailed review on it!
At first, I was a little bit confused with its formula, which is extremely runny!
Product description:
From sheer to full, your ideal coverage is just drops away with our new Total Control Drop Foundation! Fine-tune this velvety, matte foundation with the included dropper. Simply adjust the number of drops until you create the look you’re feelin’ today. Want more coverage? Add more drops!
And that’s true.
The foundation comes housed in a 13 ml. glass bottles. Have you seen such tiny bottles before?
Instead of a dispenser, there is a little pipette, like those that come with face serums. But is this really convenient?
It depends. In my case, it was really inconvenient at first. It would be hard to use a regular pump dispenser with such a liquid-y formula, and if the bottle was equipped with a nozzle, the foundation would inevitably leak through it. That’s why the dropper was the perfect solution. Plus, it helps to dispense the foundation in drops and therefore spare it.
There’s nothing else to say about the design, it’s quite simple.
Ingredients:
So, let’s talk about the foundation itself.
The color range is simply amazing and includes 24 shades! It would be really easy to find a suitable shade for any girl.
My shade is 06 Vanilla.
It’s one of the lightest in range, but there are a few lighter ones like:
- 01 PALE
- 02 ALABASTER
- 03 PORCELAIN and so on.
Vanilla is a pretty good shade, I’d even say, versatile. It would go perfectly for pale girls without pink undertones. I’m glad that I received this very shade as a sample, because it suits my skin perfectly.
Set aside all those beauty blenders and makeup sponges. As I’ve mentioned before, the foundation is really runny. If you apply it with a sponge, the latter would simply eat it, which is disadvantageous.
Apply the foundation with fingers.
I love the following feature of the product: you can layer it again and again, until you achieve the desired coverage. You can either create a sheer coverage, or a rather dense one. Due to the liquid-y formula, it’s hard to apply too much, so I do it step by step.
It’s really blendable. I have a feeling that it melts into the skin. The foundation leaves no stickiness.
The applied foundation can be corrected with a makeup sponge.
The finish is truly matte and silky, without face shine, which is great for those with oily and combination skin.
When you are writing about foundations, it’s better to show the final result. I have blood vessels, big pores and an uneven skin tone, so you can clearly see how the foundation conceals them.
I can’t say it’s the best foundation for me, I still can’t get used to its formula, even after 4 months, but it’s good and noteworthy. The fact that I used up the bottle till the end speaks for itself.
Will I buy the foundation myself?
I’d rather say no. Or I would buy it only with a discount.
But still, I can recommend the foundation, it truly deserves these four stars.
