I’ve never tried the SEPHORA products before and these two babes are the first by the brand for me.
And after trying them out, I know that I want to buy all the shades.
So, let’s get started!
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE PRODUCT
Made in Italy
Size - 5ml/0.169 oz
Price - $14
DESIGN AND PACKAGING
The design is very neat. No frills about it. The transparent tube shows us the shade of the lippie. On the top cap there’s a caption which says SEPHORA. The name Cream Lip stain is also written on the tube. The shade can be found at the bottom of the tube. But there’s only a number of the shade, not a full name.
SHADES
Initially I wanted to buy #39 Frozen Strawberry shade. It seemed to be so cool toned and gray-ish brown. It’s dark to some extent yet it’s versatile and will put a good accent on the lips, especially with complicated smokey eyes makeup. But all in all decided to take #40
#40 Pink Tea looks perfect for everyday wear. I bought it to wear in the office. Its my perfect nude color that can be used over the contour of my lips visually adding some more volume. It’s a warm toned pinky-brown nude color. (at least I see it like that on my lips). The swatches are made on my palm where the skin is of neutral undertones and shows the true shade of the product.
The swatches were taken on my palm in the daylight without filters.
TEXTURE AND SCENT
The texture is lightweight and creamy. It creates the tiniest layer, applying the product evenly and smoothly. The applicator is small and tapered. It’s very convenient to apply the product on my lips, creating a beautiful contour. The stopper in the #39 works well, while in #40, something went wrong with it and the lippies leaks and there’s always too much of it on the applicator. I don’t know what’s the reason for it but the problem exists. So, I have to store it in the vertical position.
The scent is pleasant and sweet. For me the products smell of vanilla cookies, yummy.
CHARACTERISTICS
The product dries very quickly on my lips and it feels comfortable while wear. The coverage is good and matte. It never creases or sticks my lips together. I like that the lippie doesn’t get smudged. It stars fading from the inside of the mouth but a quick touch up saves the situation.
The product will survive quick meals, coffee and tea.
How to wash the lipstick off then? - Cleansing oil is the answer! Or a two-phase makeup remover. I like washing it off with a cleansing almond oil. Don’t even try to remove the lipstick with a micellar water, no success, I tried.
OVERALL:
☑ stunning beautiful shades
☑ affordable
☑ matte finish
☑ long-lasting
☑ doesn’t crease
☑ doesn’t get smudged
The only drawback is the stopper of #40. And that’s very disappointing, as opening the product each time I have to be extremely careful and wipe off excess on rim of the tube not to stain everything around me.
