Hello dolls!
If you watch YouTube then I’m sure you’ve heard of this foundation by Tarte at least once. After reading a lot of reviews of it I was willing so much to try it out myself. So, here it is.
My opinion of the Tarte Empowered Hybrid Gel Foundation.
Size - 30ml
Made in the US
Expires within - 12 months
The first thing that I want to start off is the packaging. It’s undoubtedly beautiful. The basement is made of thick and matte glass. It comes with a glossy golden top lid. In general the packaging looks posh and luxury.
But on the other side of this beauty is the inconvenient use of the product! I deem I’ve never had a foundation to be packed like this. The packaging is a kinda your daytime cream where there’s no pump. Only the jar and the top lid, and that’s all. Oh, well I haven’t mentioned the inner liner. But it’s useless for me.
The jar is always stained with the foundation residue as I have to use either a spatula to take it out or the basement of the brush to keep the content more or less hygienic.
The product inside has a creamy consistency. It’s thick and as the name states gel-like. It’s the average cover foundation though the formula is buildable and will allow you to layer it till you get thick coverage. The scent is there but it fades after application.
A small pea-sized drop is enough to apply all over my face. This product is difficult to apply with fingertips or an average-packed brush. The best result I get is if I apply it with a sponge or use a well-packed brush kind of Cailyn.
But still the damp sponge is the best and quickest to apply this foundation.
As I’ve already mentioned above the product gives average coverage concealing small blemishes and evening out the skin’s discoloration. I like the way it makes my pores less obvious and gives a light healthy glow.
It feels like the foundation will be flattering for those with normal/drier skin.
The color range of the Tarte Hybrid Gel Foundation is very wide, though it was difficult for me to find a match. I bought it online and everything that I had were swatches on the internet. And you know, I hit the bull’s eye! My color is Fair-Light Neutral which matches my skin color so nicely.
It’s a beige fair color with neutral undertones. It won’t look good on fair skinned girls. But there are lighter as well as darker shades in the collection.
The blending is rather simple. One small drop is easy to apply all over the face and there’ll be no visible edges of the coverage.
This is how my skin looks only with some day cream on.
Here I applied the Tarte Empowered Hybrid Gel Foundation with a damp sponge and with one layer.
It’s winter now and my skin feels stressed and I can see that small peeling on the sides of my nose. The product accentuated it a little though not too much and very delicately.
Makeup’s done
Over the foundation I applied a little bit of a loose powder by Caron.
I was really impressed with the staying power of the product.
On my normal skin with oily T-zone this foundation stays on till the moment I remove it. In the afternoon I just use a blotting paper once and that’s it.
And here’s my Insta look. How beautiful my skin looks there, doesn’t it?
I liked the Tarte Empowered Hybrid Gel Foundation! It’s super comfortable to wear. It looks so good on the skin that makes it looks so perfect. I wanted to take a star off for an inconvenient packaging but then decided to assess it with all 5 stars as buying this foundation I already knew that the packaging is weird. If you are ready to buy it, then keep in mind the packaging issues.
