Hello pretties!
Today I want to talk about my favorite nail lacquers by Essie.
So, what’s so unique about them? Easy to apply? Long-lasting effect? Quick dry? Convenient brush? Yes, everything, but not only these. Essie lacquers are famous by their wide range of colors.
If that happens, that one day I’d like to buy greyish-fulvous-crimson lacquer with slatey and incarnate casting, I would be 99% sure to find it in Essie color range. There are all colors that you might probably need, except yellow, there are no yellow colors in Essie collection.
Essie is the only brand of nail polishes I buy again and again. I’ve used already three or four bottles of some especially loved and cherished colors. Earlier I didn’t notice such constancy in my character
The nail polishes are in convenient rectangular bottles. The brush touches almost the bottom of the bottle, which allows you to use the product till the very end.
The brush is wide and flat, it coats my nails fully in two touches. It’s ideal for me.
How long does it get to dry? One coat dries in approximately 7 minutes, while two - about 20. It’s absolutely of no importance for me, as I always use a quick dry and did this experiment just for my review only.
The characteristics of the lacquers differ depending on the color. So, I’ll tell you about each one separately.
Don’t judge me, for I'm not perfect at manicures. It’s not always that I can apply it very beautifully and flawless.
13 Mademoiselle
The texture is jelly-cream. It lasts for 5-6 days.
Usually I don’t buy nail lacquers of such colors as they are difficult to apply because of streaks, uneven coating and so on. But there was nothing like that with Mademoiselle color. Even in one coating it applies greatly, giving my nails beautiful look. But usually I apply two coats.
23 Eternal Optimist
The texture is creamy. It lasts for 4-5 days.
I love this color so much, that I even bought the second bottle while there’s still a lot in my first one. It’s calm, but at the same time very unusual color. It’s ideal for the office workers (though in my office there’s no prohibition on manicures). I don’t have any problems with this color in application. Usually I apply two layers.
37 Lilacism
The texture is creamy.
It stays on my nails for 3-4 days.
This color is so complimented
It looks fab on the tanned fingers. It’s a little bit more difficult to work with than the previous one, as sometimes it applies patchy. Actually I had that problem only when I applied it for the first time. Later, I got used to it and haven’t had any problems since then. I applied it in two coats.
49 Wicked
Creamy texture. Lasts for 3-4 days.
I think this is one of the most popular in Essie color range, classical, I can say. It has very intense vinous color, that differs from dark burgundy to almost black, depending on the lighting. No problems with it, usually I apply two layers.
73 Cute as a Button
The texture is jelly and the product lasts 4-5 days.
The only outsider in my collection.
I don’t quite understand what my reason to buy it was. First of all, I don’t like such colors. Secondly, such a coral shade can be found in any nail brand, there’s nothing unique about it. I think this lacquer feels that I don't like it and gives me the same - applies unevenly, too liquid so it flows out of the edges, streaks, patches, everything is bad about it. Of course, you’ll be able to apply it beautifully, but you’ll need to try very hard. And usually I don’t have such a desire, so Cute as a Button, has lived in my collection for a very long time already. By the way, for the three years it hasn’t become thicker or changed its consistency at all. I apply it in two layers and still, it looks patchy. I don’t like it. But it’s also impossible to apply this “Button” in three layers. That’s the only color that I don’t recommend at all. There's a black sheep in every flock, as they say.
98 Turquoise & Caicos
Jelly texture. It lasts for 4-5 days.
Fab powder-blue, summer color, it reminds me of holiday. It’s very beautiful on tanned hands. In two layers it can still be quite sheer, so I apply it in three thin ones. No problems with it.
99 Mint candy apple
Creamy texture. Lasts for 3-4 days.
Ideal minty color. As for the characteristics it’s absolutely identical with Lilacism. One more very popular color in Essie collection.
782 Go overboard
The texture is creamy. Lasts for 4-5 days. It’s such a trouble-free lacquer that it seems to cover my nails itself
The only dark lacquer in my collection, which I apply in one layer. It applies evenly, no patches, no streaks are seen. And there’s nothing to say about the color, very beautiful deep blue-green, navy color.
And that’s all, I hope that my review was useful for you!
