Hi everyone! Smile

Today I’m sharing my thoughts on the Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes & Lips. My skin is prone to getting dry, so I prefer using some gentle makeup removers. I got attracted to the product by its claims. It promises to remove the long-wearing makeup effortlessly and not cause dryness and peeling. Now that I’ve tested it, I can say that the manufacturer delivers on the promise.

General information about the product:

1. Price: $19 for 125 ml

Country: UK

Use within 6 months of opening.

I have a mini version that I got from a beauty box.

2. Packaging: The makeup remover comes in a plastic see-through bottle with a screw cap without any pump. The bottle is well-made, so it won’t leak even while lying flat. So, it’s travel-friendly. The design is typical for the brand. It is straightforward and nice. All information is written on the packaging.

3. Ingredients:

Water, Isohexadecane, Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Trisiloxane, PEG-4 Dilaurate, Lauryl Methyl Gluceth-10 Hydroxypropyldimonium Chloride, Hexylene Glycol, Sodium Chloride, Potassium Phosphate, Dipotassium Phosphate, Dipotassium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol.

4. This is a two-phase makeup remover that consists of two transparent layers. The first one is oily, the second one is more watery. It doesn’t have a strong fragrance.

5. Skin types: all

6. Promises from the manufacturer:

Dissolves and "lifts away" long-wearing makeup, even waterproof mascara. Non-irritating, non-stinging. Ophthalmologist tested. Appropriate for contact lens wearers.

7. Suggested use:

  • Shake well.

  • Saturate cotton ball.

  • Sweep on. Wipe off.

  • Rinse with water before reapplying makeup.

My impressions and results:

About me: I’m 29 and I have utterly dehydrated skin with peeling and clogged pores. I’m always trying to counter taut and dry skin.

I use this makeup remover for removing long-wearing mascaras, lipsticks and evening makeups. Even though I don’t use it frequently, the product doesn’t go a long way.

The use is simple. You just shake the bottle mixing the two phases together, saturate a cotton pad and remove your makeup. It’s amazing that you don’t have to apply much force to get rid of the makeup remnants. The product dissolves any mascara or eyeliner literally in a few seconds. It’s non-stinging and non-irritating for real.

The makeup remover deals with red lipstick perfectly and removes the pigment well. One of the most important things is that it doesn’t dry out my skin, which is especially great when I apply matte lippies. So, the remover is also a good skin care product.

Eventually, it leaves an oily film. Some of you might not like it, but as far as I’m concerned, I love it. I like that my lips and eye area are moisturized. Moreover, it removes any foundation without fuss. It doesn’t clog my pores and my skin feels fresh and clean after use.

Pros:

  • removes long-wearing makeup well

  • neither dries out my skin nor causes dry patches

  • fragrance-free

  • doesn’t cause any allergies

  • doesn’t irritate my eyes

  • non-stinging

  • suitable for under eye area

  • apt for contact lens wearers

Cons:

  • expensive

  • doesn’t go a long way

I would recommend the Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover despite the price. It’s one of the best two-phase makeup removers that are nice to use.

P.S.I’ve taken my photos with Nikon.

Thank you! Enjoy your shopping! Smile _____________________________________________________________________________________
